Does Rattler follow?

They have been together for years so it makes sense. Maybe he will take South Carolina's receivers that we can't cover with him.

Rattler is still Rattler. He will return to usual form. The gamecocks caught lightning in a bottle this year. Schedule, opponent key injuries, and teams taking them for granted all combined to give them a good record. All of this, except maybe injuries, will not reappear next year.

In 2020 Rattler threw for 28 TD's and 7 picks. He was beaten out by this years Heisman winner who went to USC with L Riley. He has a cannon for an arm and barbecued Clemson. If Clemson had him starting we would be undefeated. Clemson's D loses a boatload of players after this season - players that were initially projected to go in the first 2 rounds. Hope losing Satterfield sets them back but as of this moment they are simply better than Clemson. And that will be the case for at least the next 362 days. The sunshine pumping pole that had multiple respondents with 100% certainty that Clemson would cover the 14 point spread have gone silent. They obviously didn't have a clue. We are now next year people.

@whisper Talking with Carolina fans they felt we gave them the game. Ship averaging over 8 a carry we should have never thrown. We threw for 99 yrds and lost by a point. Should have been 14 plus. Up 14 in the first 10. Don’t let poor QB play cloudy reality.

You lost me on the part where SC is better. What a joke.

A better team refers to all the players and coaches that participate. We were outcoached and outplayed and yes, the QB play sure figured heavily into the result. So, peel the onion another layer. They had 414 yards of offense and the Tigers had 336. We scored on a pick 6 and a safety. The offense didn't produce just like most of the season. Were you there? I was. Lower deck home side on the 40 yard line with binoculars and and a spotter. We did try to lean on the run. Shocking to know that the Gamecocks made adjustments at halftime and we got behind the sticks multiple times trying to run Ship on first down and then maybe a read option or QB draw. We had a bunch of 3rd and long situations in the second half and had no way to convert. The Carolina fans around me were extremely happy every time DJ trotted onto the field. Chanted U-EEE, U-EEE the whole game and diagnosed every poor throw he made. Yes, the team includes the QB and the coaches and the stats and the scoreboard tell the story. Sorry if that doesn't fit your narrative or definition of a team.

Our offensive staff would find a way to lose games with Rattler. Satterfield didn't call the plays for USuC against Tennessee or Clemson. That's why Rattler all of a sudden looked like a viable quarterback. Freddie Kitchens called plays that utilized Rattler's strengths (something we failed to do with DJU for the most part this year, and honestly failed to do with Trevor his final year at Clemson).

The Gamecocks were trying to get rid of him until they won the last 2 games - now he walks on water!

I am telling you he was a figurehead the last 2 games. Freddie Kitchens is the architect behind their offensive performance against Tennessee and our Tigers. You think if Beamer wanted to keep him (especially after those 2 big wins) that he wouldn't have been able to open the checkbook to keep him in the same role as he was leaving for? Come on guys, let's be real.

Good to know. I don't follow the inner working of the Carolina staff. Have enough trouble figuring out whether Street or Dabo called a play (some of each I think). So if Kitchens is the architect that's certainly not welcome news to me. The last time the Chickens assembled a staff and then recruited it spelled trouble. Don't want to see that again. Two wins against top ten teams with portal talent is impressive. You just tip your cap and hope we can make some changes and get better.

Kitchens is heading back to the NFL. This was just a 1 year sabbatical slumming in Columbia.

Satterfield didn’t call last two games.
