Was and is the epitome of 110%. Say what you will about his performance this year he always left it all on the field (like when he carried us to victory against ND and UK) and I loved his fiery attitude. Wish him best of luck in his future endeavors, which hopefully include another year at Clemson.

Mafah is a tremendous asset to the team. I love his rugged, dogged efforts especially between the tackles!

It's puzzling to me why he wasn't our #1 RB until around mid-season.....just sayin'. He has all the tools to be a great one.

It's puzzling to me why he wasn't our #1 RB until around mid-season.....just sayin'. He has all the tools to be a great one. I always thought the same. I felt the coaching staff saw Shipley as more multi-dimensional. In other words they thought Shipley had the higher "ceiling" and they were always scheming to get that out of him.
Using that logic though, I think Mafah had a much higher "floor" and maybe we haven't even seen his "ceiling" yet.
I think that gets a lot more clear throughout the 2024 season.
Go Tigers.

He needs to work on blocking during the off season. It could be the one reason he didn’t start.

Shipley was good as a receiver. Mafah the better runner.

I love Dabo, but your question has been a popular one… A lot of number one talents on the field in different position groups don’t see the field as much as others… It’s one of the haunting questions I’ve had for years. We have championships so I don’t question his ability to coach at all… But it goes back to Cole Stout, Kelly Bryant so on, and so forth always got a wonder what he sees that we don’t. It’s very odd to me

Watch game film when he was on the field and you will see that he was by far the best blocking back. He put many linebackers on their back!!

He also has the best vision. He seemed to always hit the proper hole in the defense....hence he had the longer runs even though ship was the "lightening" of the duo

I don’t think anyone can say anything negative about Mafah… dude is a beast and while i hate ship is leaving (said previously that he is also an amazing back when used correctly I just believe we tried to revolve the offense around him too much ) im super excited to see mafah be the main guy … he’s def a better pure rb but we will also need someone to step up to be the change of pace guy and for mafah to develop more in pass pro.

Phil will have an outstanding year next year with the Tigers and will be an inspiration to all other backs in our stable backing him up! Our backups will be outstanding as well - all assuming that our OL is vastly improved next year!

There is always room for improvement, but sometimes the RB can appear to be not good in pass pro because of OLine breakdowns in front of them that affect their specific assignment.
Mafah is and has been the better back, and was severely undervalued as a pass catcher.

Mafah has always been a mature player, reflective in the fact that he stayed even though he was getting limited snaps and touches. What we saw on the field this year, is what I saw in him off the field even as a recruit.

I don't think the saying "When you have 2 quarterbacks, you have NO quarterbacks" applies the same to running backs, but there is some similarities.

He'll be back for another season as the feature back. With Shipley gone, The freshman Ethomumme will be the other back. This should be a very formidable RB tandem next season. Clemson should allow these young men to their "bread and butter" on offense, and allow Klubnik to benefit with the passing game as help.

I hope that you are correct. I am not much on NIL but, I will order a MAFAH tshirt to wear to the games in 2024. I love to watch him run the ball.

For sure he is not afraid of being tackled. I think when a would be tackler is approaching him they are thinking" Oh sh*t, this is gonna hurt."
