Our SOS wouldn't be so weak if we would just schedule 2 SEC teams

Oh, wait...
It's funny that our schedule is "weak" in part to the 2 teams from the "best" conference sucking. Yet Alabama plays murders row bc they play the same sucky teams.....

Which SOS ranking has Clemson 25th?
Oct 24, 2019, 1:19 PM

Sagarin (USA Today) has Clemson 43rd.
For comparison purposes, Ohio State is 32nd, LSU is 41st, Penn State is 47th, OU is 48th, Bama is 52nd, and Georgia is 64th.

There are a ton of SOS metrics and they can vary wildly

Most of them suck. Honestly, the best thing to do with them is probably to find as many as you can and just average them out to get a consensus.

So Ohio State has the hardest with Florida Atlantic, Cincinnati, Indiana, Miami(OH), Nebraska, Michigan State, and Northwestern. If you compare that to LSU who has played Texas and Florida, whose schedule do you want regardless of the other 5 teams. Ratings systems, like Sagarin, that have a huge downgrade for cupcakes and only a small uptick for playing quality competition are worthless in my mind. Ohio State has probably played the easiest schedule so far, and certainly doesn't have any claim to hardest.

over the last three seasons, Clemson has the best record in all of college football (15 - 2) against teams in the top 25 poll.

Aren't those 2 of our 4 toughest games?

I know it's tough to think objectively about South Carolina, but who, outside of UNC is better than them? Probably Wake and that's it.
But yeah, in terms of SEC teams, we definitely got 2 crappy ones this year. It's not like having Auburn, UGA, or LSU on the schedule.

I think Wake, UNC, Pitt, UVa, Louisville, and possibly Duke are better than the chickens

Is Louisville really better than SC? I guess we will know more after we play the Chickens, but i don't think so.

No virginia or unc, but I guess they are not that bad..
Yes the 2-4 teams in the sec are better than the 2-4 in any other conference, but the middle and bottom of the ACC is way better than they are.
Pitt, uva, Duke, unc, Louisville, MIAMI, BC, etc are good teams. We will win more bowl games than any other conference this year.

I honestly don't know what Miami is this year, but "good" certainly isn't one of the first things to come to mind.

There's still a lot of football to be played, so who knows?
To be honest, South Carolina is a middle of the pack team in any P5 Conference though.
Pre-season I would have had TAMU #1...and South Carolina somewhere between #4-#6. So far, it looks like UNC is the best team we've played.
As for South Carolina...we know they lost to UNC, FSU is better than them, and so definitely is Wake. At this point I'd also throw BC, NCSU, and Louisville in there with them.
