Sounds like it was a big cluster because Clemson has lost the ability to plan and run events. So stupid. They should open this for the students on Friday and public on Saturday. Students were in line for hours and didn't even get in.

Most of the resellers who bought all the stuff probably didn’t or even could get into Clemson.

Students gotta get there early. Saw several in line early. Early bird gets the worm. Just like like people say students should get better tickets etc. um they’re not gonna do that bc who pays mostly! The public/donors not students. But I forget it’s 2025 and people wanna have things handed to them.

Me and wife got a a good amount as did friends I saw who work here and live close.

Had a few friends get shoes but yes people at the very front camped and pure scalpers. They had a U-Haul …people in checkout line and during sell were calling them out left and right.

Heard from a guy who works at Clemson the first two guys in line bought 6,000 worth of shoes. Also The State pretty much ran this sale along with fanatics. University employees had no early access this year.

honestly thought about taking a box and throwing boxes out or getting friend to distract them and I give it out to the people

Those guys and others I saw had no clemson gear on at all. At least dress the part so maybe wouldn’t get questioned

He’s currently on his way back to El Salvador on a unrelated issue

I waited in line for 3 hours just for there to be people who overbought only to resell it on eBay later tonight. Also the fire marshal was limiting how many people could come in at once.

My take on the "Surplus" Sale

First, I don't think I'll do this again. I'm not a reseller and even though I live nearby, I'd almost rather pay full price than have to deal with this mess.

Second, I don't think most of it was "surplus" stuff from CUAD. Yes, the jerseys (which were strewn on the floor in a pile) may have been from CUAD, but the vast majority of the items on the tables was tagged with a price and in plastic bags (at least initially until people started ripping those open and discarding the plastic on the floor).

Other thoughts:

- This might have been more of a Fanatics sale since the receipt clearly stated "Fanatics."
- The tables are clearly marked "Hoodies SM" "Hoodies MED" etc but what they don't do is distinguish between women's and men's within those categories. A women's large is smaller than a men's large. With polo shirts, you can tell by looking at them whether they're for a man/woman, but you usually need to open the bag to see it.
- They had FOUR checkout people and the wait to check out was over an hour.
- Try on EVERYTHING before you buy it. For some reason, the sizes were a bit off and a Men's XL fit better than a LG and I wear a LG.

For the future, if they're going to allow resellers, they should have a separate checkout queue for them. Personally, I agree that they should limit the number of items you can purchase. They gave out clear plastic bags (they were essentially bags that you'd buy ICE) so maybe just allow everyone to fill that bag and you're done. If you want to bring your kids to get more, fine, but people that are bringing their own moving boxes, oversized travel bags, etc. are only there for one reason and that is to buy for resale.

You couldn’t bring your own bags. The boxes were in a pile that the equipment was in. I grabbed a box bc the bags sucked. It all is team issued. I have worked as equipment manager and all schools have gear that is tagged and in wrappers. Teams overstock. Kids and staff lose items or some get worn. We have a few shirts we got and I looked at who had them. Some are faded.

I arrived around 9:00, thinking the mad rush would be past by then. I was going to look and see what was left.

I saw the line. It started at the south/west entrance of Littlejohn, extended down to Perimeter road, headed north to Ravenel Road. I laughed and headed downtown to shop. Picked up a could sweatshirts and my granddaughter a gymnastics tee shirt.

I was downtown about an hour...walked around campus a bit...returned to my car and the line looked like it hadn't moved.

Felt sorry of the folks with kids in line...knowing they probably made promises they might not have been able to keep.
