My 2 cents.

I hope this post finds you all as frustrated as I am with the current state of our beloved Clemson Tigers' offense. It's been a rough ride since our last national championship appearance in 2020, and I've got some thoughts.
Now, let me get one thing straight before we dive in—I bleed orange just like the rest of you, and I'll support Dabo Swinney until the cows come home. But we can't ignore the writing on the wall any longer. Our offense is in shambles, and the blame game needs to stop. It's time we address these issues head-on.
First off, Coach Dabo's recent remarks about fans' complaints really rubbed me the wrong way. Look, we're not just armchair quarterbacks here; we're passionate fans who've invested our hearts, souls, and weekends into this team. Constructive criticism is our way of showing we care, and calling us out for it doesn't sit well.
Let's talk about the transfer portal—or rather, our lack of enthusiasm for it. While other schools are out there snagging talented players to bolster their rosters, we're sitting on our hands. It's time we embrace the reality that college football has changed. We can't keep relying solely on recruiting high school talent; we need to adapt or be left behind.
Then there's the painful truth: our offense is just not what it used to be. Remember the days when we were a powerhouse, consistently ranking in the top 5 for total offense? Well, those days are long gone. It's hard to watch our once-mighty offense struggle to make the top 25 since 2020. It stings, folks—it really does.
And what's the deal with our coaching hires? We've brought in unproven coaches for key offensive positions like wide receivers, running backs, and offensive line. Sure, loyalty to the Clemson family is admirable, but let's be real here—fresh blood and innovative ideas are what we need to turn this ship around.
I'm not saying this to be a negative Nelly, but as fans, we've got to face the facts. Our Tigers deserve better, and it's up to us to rally behind them. I'll always shout "Go Tigers!" from the top of my lungs, but I'm also not afraid to voice my concerns.
Here's to hoping that brighter days are ahead for our Clemson offense. In the meantime, let's keep it real, support our Tigers, and keep our fingers crossed for some much-needed improvements.
Go Tigers!

Ah, I see what you did there! 😄 Well, if being in the 1.5% means we're the ones holding our Tigers to the highest standards, then I'm proud to wear that badge. Real fans want the best for their team, and sometimes that means asking the tough questions. Win or lose, and hope that the other 98.5% can handle the heat of constructive feedback!

I think Dabo has it backwards with the 1.5% I actually haven’t talked to a single fellow Clemson fan that isn’t frustrated with what is going on. I think the 1.5% that think everything is fine and dandy are on this board

We all know that his comments boil down to the fact that he can’t take criticism and can’t stand it when fans and sports reporters alike say that he’s anything less than perfect. You guys are lying to yourselves if you can’t see that by now

He discusses criticism, very well versed in it.
He's commented on disappointment in the past, which is understandable. He's discussed a small percentage that take it a bridge too far and as a result create problems for the program.
We've all seen it here and in the 'verse, but we might not all define it as such.

You’re gonna miss on some recruits. But we used to be able to take those Mrs and coach them up and the decent players and take the hits and make them superstars. We haven’t had anyone like that since Trevor’s last season. No superstars know, killer instinct, players, at least certainly not on the office of side of the ball. The defense has managed to maintain itself and continue to bring in talent, but it certainly appears like the office has fallen off completely.
I do like the Riley hire… But him not being allowed to bring any staff with him and having to work with the people we already have should’ve been a huge red flag. I do not understand why you go out and get a coach with that level of experience and success, and don’t completely give him control.
With our defense, I could see us only losing one more game, the rest of the way… But our office is so bad I could see us losing three games maybe four.
I know nobody stays on top of the mountain forever… I just didn’t expect us to drop off so fast and so far. I hope it makes Dabo hungry. I hope he makes staff changes and I hope he quits giving the friends and benefit program priority, and gets in the portal to fill gaps.

I don’t think we have sunk to a 7-5 level. We only play 3 decent teams (4 if you count Duke), so probably 8-4 is worst case. But we are certainly capable of running the table from here on out. The offense just needs a little confidence.

I am still waiting for some "constructive criticism". If all people do is complain with no direct contact with the person they are criticizing, it's just an empty narrative that serves little purpose. If it is constructive, it needs to be delivered to the place where it has a chance to have a positive impact.

Valid point, but here's the thing: when you see the ship heading for an iceberg, you don't need to be the captain to shout 'Iceberg ahead!' Sometimes, as fans, our collective concerns can send a strong message.

already spotted the iceberg, what help is it for the thousand passengers to yell. I believe Dabo is cognizant of where his ship is headed and has a plan to make corrective actions - he has to miss that iceberg on his own, the passengers have to ride it out and let the captain do his job - their advice in a crucial time isn't constructive.A leader has to lead without taking a poll to see if the majority agrees.... and do we have a "majority" here?

Additional criteria to be mete as well, you don't believe in the existence of constructive criticism at least not on this specific platform or your original intention was to wait(but not on constructive criticism).Intention was to wait rhetorically—as underhanded an act as the misrepresenting that occurs in the frequent parroting of strawman counters—

Just my opinion I suppose but "constructive" criticism does not exist. It's just plain old criticism. If ya gonna criticize someone just admit that's the goal. Don't try to make it something it ain't. IMHO

I think there is one big thing that we kind of gloss over. The offensive personnel we have right now was not of Riley's choosing. Just like BV started 6-7 his first year, he needed some time to recruit the players that best fit his schemes and also to develop a culture that suited him. I think Riley needs time to do the same for the offense because I do believe he is a solid offensive coach.
He will get some of the parts next year and he needs Cade to develop, which I think he is doing now as he gets more game experience under his belt. If our OL can continue to grow with another year of experience and we get another offseason to further Riley's offense, I do believe this offense can look a lot different next year and be a lot more productive. I'm really hoping some of these 2 new WRs, TE, and RB can come in and contribute early. They seem like the kind of guys that could be tailor made for Riley's offense.

Well here is my 2 cents worth!. First don’t give yourself that much credit, you would have to improve immensely to even qualify as an ARM CHAIR QB!!! Dabo is a 1,000,000 % correct there are fans on this board, and if you are offended I AM talking about you, that ANY college team would be better off not having!!! Spoiled bunch of never was and never will be’s that think they know better than the 2 time National Championship coach and that includes David Hood!!!! I hope when Dabo leaves Clemson, the next 20 coaches never win more than 7 games in their best season. I don’t give a crap what any of you tools post because I am off this pathetic board. My final hope is that Clemson football extremely limits Mr Hood’s access to Reeves and Clemson football employees and players because it is obviously he enjoys catering to the cancer !!!

Your only happy if we are 15-0 every year, 14–1 and yall calling for Dabo's immediate dismissal! What's a matter with yall!?! Yall wanna fire Dabo cause he wont cull 30 youngsters who weren't named 1st team AP All–American by their sophomore season and replace them with 30 portal players whose only contribution will be "poisoning the well", as locker cancers. He's taken the moral high ground and it will pay big time very soon! (It's been prophesied) So positive affirmations only! No negativity! Just shut up or go find a football discussion board!! Dummies! Don't make me go, "Nobody knows losing" on you!! Cus I will! Keep it up buttercup! PS(all the Negativity is the reason we lost the opener, for real)

So you’re telling me the entire top 25 in college football all have carcinogenic transfers in their locker rooms? I have not seen any one say we need 30 transfers. But to say we shouldn’t take 3-4 a year like the elites is accepting that we can win a fight with an arm tied behind our back. The proof is in the pudding. Theirs looks tasty while ours looks like sugar free. Get over yourself.

You either take 30 portals or none(or a 25 year old, 4th string, Grad Asst QB). It's an unwritten rule that oddly enough only pertains to Clemson: you gotta go full portal (minimum 30)! Don't shoot the messenger, positive thoughts and calming sounds, KUMBAYA—

good writeup. If we'd stop the 'projects' and get more HS players or save some for the portal, then all would probably feel a little more secure with the decisions. I'm a Dabo guy, but you really can't keep the projects plan going at this time.
