Mickey is talking about the players that may leave early

Nov 14, 2017, 7:26 AM

and run down the hill Saturday. My question is...... If they run down the hill can they change their mind and come back for another season?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Only if they run back up the hill backwards before the national champions parade.***

to honestly think that running down the hill would, by some ncaa regulation, disqualify them from returning their senior year is dumb... sorry.

Until a player signs with an agent,

Nov 14, 2017, 7:40 AM

they can change their mind.

As far as some,do they have a position ?The Staff has been recruiting to replace 2 wr's this year. Cain is not ready ,plays like he's protecting himself already. And, like Mickey said, if A Scott wasn't drafted, RR3 won't be. His best bet would be playing next year at CB.

I disagree. He has speed. His 40 time will be good enough to warrant a mid to late round pick.

Everybody in the NFL has speed. RRM is too small & inconsistent to play WR at the next level. CB & PR would be his best bet & he needs a year to showcase the position.

Don't care

But do care enough to post about not caring

There are no stupid questions ... but dumb answers abound .

I may be a statistical leader in the latter.

I'm sure dabo would have no problem with a kid changing his mind.

Actually a good question with two answers. First, the technical re NCAA eligibility. Second, Dabo's team policy. I knew the first answer, but not the second.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I actually knew the NCAA rule, but was wondering about

Nov 14, 2017, 10:00 AM

Dabo’s policy. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: I actually knew the NCAA rule, but was wondering about

Nov 14, 2017, 10:13 AM

I'll put it this way. Do you really think if Watson came up to Dabo after the National Championship game last season and said "Coach, I want to come back for my Senior season" that Dabo would have said "sorry, but you already came down the hill on Senior day, and you know the rules. Good luck in the NFL."

Re: Mickey is talking about the players that may leave early

Nov 14, 2017, 7:57 AM

My understanding is that Dabo only recognizes underclassmen as "seniors" at the hill ceremony if they are due to graduate in December and are foregoing their 4th year of eligibility to go pro. For example, DW4 and Artavis Scott were Juniors that completed their diploma requirements in 3 years (i.e. graduated early) and were therefore allowed the fanfare and recognition of being a senior. Trying to remember but I don't think Dabo allowed "the hill" recognition for other juniors that were not graduating but going pro (Sammy Watkins, TJ Green, etc...)

If they have not signed with an agent, and they have eligibility left, they can come back.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They can return as long as the staff allows them to.

Nov 14, 2017, 8:56 AM

And this staff doesn't run players off.
Go Tigers!!

Re: Mickey is talking about the players that may leave early

Nov 14, 2017, 9:44 AM

Not sure where they stand on graduating, but here are the guys I think will leave early.

1. Christian Wilkins
2. Clelin Ferrell
3. Austin Bryant
4. Mitch Hyatt
5. Deon Cain

Outside chance for Ray Ray and Kendall Joseph, but don't expect them as high in projections.

The first 4 will all be projected in the first 2 rounds. Deon has slid, but someone will take a shot on potential by round 3 at the worse.

I believe Ferrell has hinted about staying. Cain maybe, with an improved KB or TL he could rocket up the board!
