Every ACC President and AD supported it because Swofford hid the ESPN early exit clause from all of them. They understood it to be a locked 10-year deal. i hope Swofford is my salesman the next time I need a new truck. I know I'll get a **** of a deal.

FSU had to sue the ACC to see the contract. lack of transparency by the league office was the whole catalyst of this whole debacle and may very well be the death nail of the ACC.

The entirety of the contract was revealed and it’s a crime to hide details of a contract from any party involved. SMH. It’s not like Nancy Pelosi strong arming Congress into signing a bill to learn the contents. If that were the case, the lawsuit would be over and all members released from the Grant of Rights. In reality the entirety of the grant of rights was released to the public shortly after the deal was signed. The death knell for the ACC members is the fact the knowingly sold their media rights through 2036. Never has a case been won when the seller of their rights sued for relief without proving wrongdoing. The legal term is unconscionable agreement. We have to prove that it was a deal made through subterfuge or wrongdoing. Think George Lucas Vs Hasbro. George sold the toy rights to Hasbro for a small amount of money. Star Wars blew up and Hasbro was making more money than George off the franchise. He sued to get the rights back. George lost. You can also search through thousands of similar cases and the results always favor the buyer. Meaning ESPN and the ACC should win this case easily.

AD’s and President’s can read the last time I checked. Nothing was hid. Maybe in discussion it was misrepresented, but that is why you always do your due diligence before signing anything.

This can be said for most any AD in the country. It's the same for any coach missing on highly rated recruits. IE: Mike Bellamy, Chad Kelly, Aju Aju to name a few. When Monte was hired, he was one of the winningest coaches and sought after coaches in the country. His teams at USuC under Tanner and his teams at CofC won and were hard outs anywhere at any time. Why he deviated from that philosophy once he gotto Clemson, I will never understand. He went away from the 2-strike / contact approach that got him here and got swept up in the exit velo / launch angle phenomenon. I also believe him keeping Bradley LeCroy was a major mistake that even he would change in hindsight. As far as DRad his #1 mistake was moving to Miami and I don't think there is a close 2nd. Sadly, he knows that as well, although he may never admit it publicly.

Living in Miami has nothing to do with my comment. Miami Athletics are horrible compared to ours and their boosters are 1000 times worse. You're right though, Miami is where you go to retire.

That your opinion. Miami doesn’t lose money in sports. Miami is also his alma mater. I’d rather work for free for Clemson Athletics than get paid anywhere else for the same job. That’s because I am biased. He’s biased towards Miami. His bank account proves he made the right move. We also wouldn’t have had the same success without him. He’s the man that bought into Dabo’s vision and gave the okay for the majority of the improvements Dabo asked for. DRad also groomed Neff. We saw unprecedented sports growth and succes with DRad at the helm. I hated that he left but also can’t blame him for going home.

Side note: Had Covid never hit Monte may still be our coach. That team was loaded and had elite starting pitching. With that being said it everything happens for a reason, and we now have an ELITE baseball coach. EB is one of the top 5 coaches in college baseball and will win a LOT!!

Praise God, then! I hated watching Monte Lee teams and his “big ball” home-run philosophy. Small ball beats big ball when the team has elite pitching. Case in point; we faced Vandy in our regional and got dominated by elite pitching. We couldn’t manufacture runs and swinging for the fences caused us to strike out more often than not. We crushed teams with average pitching but couldn’t beat a true ace on the mound.

I liked EB from his initial press conference, but I fell in love with him early last season when he stated that any player unable to bunt efficiently would never start in his program. EB is an elite coach and can absolutely manufacture runs in every way allowed in the rule book. Since he's been at Clemson we have scored double RBIs on a single bunt twice. I would be willing to bet no one in the country has done that twice. His teams 2 strike plate approach absolutely terrorizes opposing pitching staffs. We get into bullpens early in series's.

Do you really think there is equivalency between hit rate on recruits when you sign roughly 25 a year and in hiring coaches when you do it maybe once every other year. And might only do it a sport anyone pays attention once a decade - like DRad did.

That was on the BOT. Neff gave two options, and that was build a brand new arena, and rebuild. The adminstration chose the 2nd.

I blame the entire administration, including the Board of Trustees, for skimping on the new facilities.
Also, Radakovich was our AD then, not Neff.

He signed Coach Brownell to a crazy $$$$ extension after a Final Four run in the NIT led by KJ McDaniels.
He then kept Coach Brownell after a 1st round loss to Oakland in 2017 going 7 years since the last NCAAT.
Of course, things are at an uptick now...

Program right in the middle of the BLM movement! His HUGE lack of Social Awareness/Sense of timing causes unnecessary negative exposure to Clemson, not to mention the much larger amount of lost revenue had he done nothing!
1) Clemson had to pay the approx $300 k legal bills for the plaintiffs
2) Had to spend a ton more $$$ on bringing $$ spending parity to our non revenue generating Women’s Olympic sports.
3) Had to add 2 more Women’s Sports!
Nah…DRad was quietly shown the door after this huge bungling move. He was lucky to land in Miami for his swan song. What an overpaid Bureaucrat who figured out how to survive and profit long enough only to expose his own clear vulnerability to the “Peter Principle”!

That’s was not stupid. He was one of the most sought after coaches that year. If we didn’t hire him someone else would have. I honestly think he gets another opportunity somewhere else.
