Nice win, but: They’ve got a serious problem with students trying to sit in reserved seats. Took us an hour to get through the portal and to our seats. Due to gridlock caused by students coming down from seats they were kicked out of by the rightful ticket holders. Apparently they get general admission tix, more than their allotted seats in the student section, I guess. It was insane. So daughter-of gets to our seats first, and they’re occupied by students. She tells them they’ve got to move down 4 seats. I get to my seat, and this student guy hasn’t moved out of my space. After that hour in the portal caused by students, I went off. “I have a ticket for that spot you’re standing in, move now. He sez, calm down, we’ll squeeze in some. I sez, no you’re still in my space, and I’m not squeezing in. It took an hour to get to this seat thanks to students trying to sit in seats w/ no ticket, like you, and I’m not having it. He sez, hey this is common. Haven’t you been to a big game?I sez, yes, and I sat in my whole seat space. Girl he was with dragged him out of my space, 4 of them squeezed into 2 seats. They stood there for about 10 min, then slunk away like loosers. Thinking about writing the AD. The end.

I had some good seats in C and students were in A and part of B iirc, but they had sat in both B and C. We had to make them move and so did all the other season ticket holders. They kept trying to do the squeeze in thing.
Now, we stood that whole game - due to rain and due to the game. Still I want my space.

Parents with 2 tickets on our row have expected to be able to squeeze in a kid or 2 that has a cheep seat ticket somewhere else
They “can’t believe you expect us to not sit together as a family “ or “our kids aren’t old enough to sit by themselves”
F that noise

My friends and me were all 6'2"+ and 240lbs+. We "suggested" they move. After some minimal confrontation, they did.

It was a real safety issue, and many frail people just bailed out to the concession area. I was intimate with many hot babes and burly dudes. The amount of students pushing to come down the steps, go up the steps, and legit tix holders just trying to get to their seats, or give up and come back down before the 1st qtr was over was insane. There was 1 hwy patrol guy looking down from above the portal, doing nothing. I made eye contact, and pointed at the ###########, and he pushed down the steps and left. The incident at my seat was fun to tell, but not the main story.

I've always found that the best way to disperse these hijackers from my seats

is to stick my finger down my throat and vomit right in front of my space. 85% of the time it works every time.
Pro Tip...drink heavily before heading into the stadium and ALWAYS wear your waterproof muck boots to away games. It pays to live by the motto of the Boy Scouts of America.

You never know when you might accidentally trigger an all-out vomit war. I'll never forget the last one I saw. People were burying their own fists down their throat. And then when they ran out of juice, they would start burying their fists down their neighbor's throat, you know, to help them. Before long, it was just a sad demonstration of dry heaving. I've never felt so ashamed in all my life.
I decided right then and there to never volunteer at another church bake sale.

sometimes you have to be willing to go nuclear to win. And there's nothing wrong with dropping trousers and spraying the Brown Death as long as you know you're on the right side of the cause.

No issue as plenty of empty seats around us. The hike up 20 flights of steps sucked though.
Logged 23,000 steps walking around campus yesterday. My legs are hurting today.

student allotment of seats on the scoreboard end of the visitor section, which is prolly why they gravitated to be in my way.
And yes on the soreness. I broke my ankle severely 10 yrs ago, and it's generally not an issue, but cool/cold dampness and standing on concrete bothers it some. Add in walking from our parking spot across Prices Fork Rd from campus, to the stadium, then mostly standing for the game, then walking back, plus standing around our tailgate on pavement, my whole lower leg tightened up. After sitting still driving home, I could barely walk. some ice pack/hot pack this am, and no more problem.
Did you enjoy all the Hokie Stone? It's nice, but maybe not every freakin building.

I liked the continuity throughout the campus. Even the stadium had the same stone.
We parked on north side of campus in Perry St garage. Then walked thru campus, over to farmers market, downtown, around stadium, over to Center St parties, back to downtown, around campus again, back to downtown, then to stadium, and all the way back to garage after game. Whew.
Campus is like a bigger version of Clemson. The drill field was enormous.
