KEY TO BEATING FLORIDA

For people who haven’t watched Jac Caglione, he is basically Caden Grice on steroids.
He’s been projected as the number 1 overall pick, anywhere to the 5th overall pick.
He’s everything and more for Florida.
And he also throws 100 mph
Florida ranks 7th nationally in home runs with about 120 I believe. They have 7 hitters who have reached double digit home runs.
Florida has the worst ERA in the SEC this season at 6.27, and counting on a freshman as the main starter in the postseason is a big challenge. Veterans Fisher Jameson and Brandon Neely will need to perform well from the bullpen for UF to stay competitive.
So, to sum Florida up as a team, they save themselves with home runs. Their pitching digs them into holes and they escape by hitting bombs.
The key to this is NOT WALKING HITTERS!!!
It seems that they have a good chance of hitting some home runs. Especially that the games will be played at 2 o’clock on hot June days, the heat will no doubt help home run hitting.
So if we can only give up solo home runs and maybe only 2-run homers when they do happen, I just don’t think their pitching is going to be able to save them.

If we score more runs than FL each game I have a good feeling about making it to Omaha!!

And we will have to not strand 34 runners on base and string together hits. If we leave 34 plus on we will not have a chance.

Yes but even in doing that, we were able to go 3-0 in our regional.
Florida has not been as good as Coastal Carolina. I believe Coastal has played better, not necessarily the roster though.
I see Coastal and Florida as almost identical in their styles of winning. Lots of home runs, but bad pitching.
You are definitely correct, but I think our runs will definitely come with how confident we are now.

The Key for our baseball team to beat anybody in the country is solid pitching and keeping their errors down. If that happens, our baseball team will be really hard to beat especially in those 2 out of 3 series.
We only lost two 3 game series over the whole 2024 season, and that was against NC St and Wake...

As with all other SEC teams, they are notorious for the getting hit in the elbow out over the plate. During the season they all got away with it. There were several instances this past weekend that umps called the SEC players on it. If that happens early in Saturday's game, it can benefit us immensely in the series. USuC had a player get called out in a crucial moment against JMU for leaning into a 3rd strike. We will have to pitch these guys inside to keep them honest.
Make no mistake, this is a very dangerous team that is playing with "house" money. They shouldn't even be in the tournament and are now out to prove everyone wrong that said they don't belong.
Caglione is probably the greatest college player of all times, and he will do damage. Similar to Condon, we will have to limit his damage by limiting baserunners in front of him.
Every pitcher they run out will be mid to upper nineties. Outside of Caglione, they have all displayed control issues at some point this season. We need to make them work deep in counts and ambush some fastballs every now and then to maximize damage. Driving the ball to opposite fields will be a key strategy this weekend.
Not sure of pitching matchups, but I would assume they start Caglione on Saturday. Beat him and they may lay down afterwards. Similar to Ark when Smith lost last Saturday.

The keys to winning are always the same. Our starting pitching and current bullpen rotation should keep us in games. The one thing that will be the difference in winning or losing is the amount of quality at bats we can string together. Florida will walk you. They have power arms that rely on you chasing their stuff out of the zone….. If we can battle their pitchers and win then I think we sweep 2 games…. Now that we’ve finally won a regional sky is the limit
