and had some VERY good pickups in the portal this year.
we "SHOULD" beat them at home (there have been a lot of "SHOULDS" the last few years), but losing isn't out of the realm of possibility.

The fact that they've been even remotely competitive of late says more about Clemson than it does about Nancy State.

Doeren has been at NC State since 2013 and is 2-8 against us, so no he hasn’t beaten Clemson more often than not since he’s been there lol. He’s actually been abysmal until recently.

NC State is a "wannabe" . No tradition at all in College Football, and under Doeren, who in my opinion is a dirty coach, they will always be middle-of-the -road program.

State had 15 minutes of fame a few times. 1967 white shoes 8 wins cominmg into Clemson we embarrassed them. They had three or so years of championships in the ACC under Loose Boltz when the ACC was getting pummelled by any non-ACC team. Sheridan owed Danny a couple of years when State didn't win the conference

This NC State guy says that he always looks forward to beating Clemson and I'm LMAO. Somebody tell this guy that since 2004 to 2013 that our record 16 Clemson and 3 NCST. His always has been 3 times in 20 years, and that tells Tiger nation that when he looks forward to something that it Usually don't turn out the way he would like it. Also tell him that since 2012 the score is Clemson 9, NCST 2, and that says that he has been very unhappy most of his life if he measures success by how many times, he has looked forward to beating Clemson. Twice in 3 years and looking over their 20 years record, tells us that even a blind squirrels will find a nut sometimes, but not that often, and this year will mean that the squirrel didn't find a nut!!!

They have beaten us 2 of the last 3 times. That's relevant. It means, either, that we don't take them seriously, or we have regressed. Considering that State hasn't been to the playoff, or many highly-touted bowls, I believe you can see writing on the wall. Whatever the scenario, we need to get better. Taking State, and every other team on the schedule, seriously is essential.
Go Tigers!!! Beat the pups and every other team. Especially the dern coots!!!!

I wish could have played Carolina every year because they were huge rivals back in the day and I always enjoyed going to games in Chapel Hill, but since we don't, State has become a big rivalry and it will only get better as the years go by.

Agree with several comments above - for whatever reason our struggles with NCSU go back to the Danny Ford era and probably before and, while they have certainly been competitive, our struggles HAVE always been more about CLEMSON more so than about NCSU when we have been on paper (I know that is why we play the games...) a much better team and have shown that in our bowls, play-offs (wait, what is the record of NCSU in the playoffs?) and Nattys (wait, how many do they have?). Look at the last two losses and ask "why did we lose that game?" It comes down to what we or did not do and this will be the case again this year.

Anytime they win it's more we beat ourselves or the refs screw us over....just like the OT game where Justyn Ross had both his arms locked up and they just let it go. It took a 17 pt head start last year and multiple turnovers to barely hang on last year.

I do have to smirk at NCSU's attempt to find yet another football archrival among a field of rivals that's not particularly interested. UNC says "got one, sorry", Duke can't be bothered, ECU desperately wants an archrivalry but NCSU looks down their nose at them. So now that they've beaten us a couple times, they want this to be their marquee game.
NC State will always be the SCar of North Carolina. Permanent inferiority complex.
