Is it Streeter when it comes to QB and offense? Have always laid the blame at Dabo since he has final say. However, after the game today Dabo was asked about QB competition this week and was kinda open. Streeter was asked similar question and was instantly defensive and defended DJ. Maybe Streeter is the one pushing DJ so hard.

Come on man. Thats an asinine suggestion.

The man's not perfect, but he's BY FAR the best coach in Clemson history of any sports program, ever. He sees exactly what folks with any common sense see, we have an issue at the most important position on the field. We milked 10 wins out of the broken issue we have at QB, and we have more to come. However, if we want to contend for a national championship, we MUST fix the elephant in the room. Fix that, and everything takes off from there. We don't need new coaches or new schemes, we need a QB who can execute regardless.

I don't know why you guys refuse to accept that maybe Uiagalelei is simply the best option. It's like you guys will twist yourselves into pretzels to avoid even contemplating the possibility.

If DJ is the best option we need a better recruiter. He's mediocre at best. We don't know if he's the best option we haven't seen enough of our backups. No knock on DJ but he would ride the pines for other elite teams.

Yes, recruiting has to get better. But that kind of goes back to my point. He may simply be the best we have, at least for right now.

Im afraid the NIL is partially to blame. Ive always thought NIL would kill our run at greatness. DJ hasn’t been the same ever since he signed on with Dr Pepper. Our “elite” WR core hasnt panned out. I think NIL is a distraction. Additionally Clemson cannot compete long term with the NIL recruiting game. But I guess we will wait and see.

If DJ is the best option and there was no attempt to get an option in portal then shame on us. God I wish we had Chase Brice. You think Rattler would have considered Clemson over #####? I could probably come up with 10 options that would have provided more consistency than DJ the last two years.

He's 7 of 15 for 95 yards, one TD and one terrible INT and almost two. He's not ready, and most of the time true freshmen don't take over in their first year. I'm sorry Clemson friend, but its asinine to suggest Cade being where he is is the fault of the coaches. It is what it is, and we need to accept it. He'll challenge for the starting spot with Vizzinza next year, and we gotta do something about this elephant in the room. Love DJ, but he's just not capable. Coaching can't polish that turd.

When is anyone ever really ready for their first start and how do you get there without the opportunity? You could say dw4 and Trevor Lawrence were not ready for that first start but they still got it because they were the best option just like CK is now.
I'm baffled that you're still trying to defend DJ.

There has been one Tiger QB to win MVP at the Elite 11….not Deshaun, not Trevor, not DJ but Klubnik. You are not going to convince me that his ceiling is not higher than DJ. I’d rather take some lumps and get this kid ready. How could he be any worse?

That’s what’s curious to me. If we’re going to abandon the down field pass in favor of RPO or run game, then Cade is the better runner, no question. There were several times today (pre injury) when DJ had lanes but his slow speed, allowed D to react.

On Mickey Plyler's show a few weeks ago, he stated that he was told by people inside the program that the coaches felt Klubnik put the ball in danger too much. Now, I understand you could say, well what about Uiagalelei? Well, if he's doing that in games and still starts, I would guess Klubnik is showing some real problems in practice.

That might be true. As I've said before, prior to this, the team was winning and had a chance to make the playoffs. The most likely guess is that Dabo was going to try to make it work with Uiagalelei while all that was still on the table.

Combination of both. Streeter's inability to develop DJ's talents and devise an innovative offense using his strengths and Dabo's inability to adapt to change (transfer portal, outside hires for coordinators) are the root of the subpar performance over the last 2 seasons.

QB is the primary issue facing our program.
Nov 26, 2022, 9:24 PM

I don't understand whats so hard to comprehend about that. A good QB and we beat the heck out of the coots today. You can't beat teams when the QB routinely misses open guys and doesn't give receivers a chance on 1:1's. There is nothing any coach anywhere could've done to fix the broken issue we saw today. Blaming coaches for the elephant in the room is lazy. If it were up to a lot of these folks, Dabo would have been fired in 2009, 2010, 2011, and during the losing streak to the chickens.

The right answer may be that we whiffed on a qb twice in a row now. I think they would make a change but the alternative is worse than the current situation.

I'm going to trust Dabo to get the problem(s) fixed. It may need to wait until after this season ends. Dabo has many admirable qualities. One of which is his loyalty to players and staff. But I also believe Dabo wants to win and knows how to win. Dabo has created a wonderful culture at Clemson that is the envy of most universities. I trust in Dabo. I'm all in. Dabo has some tough personnel decisions to make, and I trust he will make good decisions - decisions that will make Clemson football better.

Dabo is the #1 problem - very poor coaching/leadership the past 3 seasons. Dabo is a marketing fraud, and his schemes have all fallen flat. CU paying a con man $11.5 million a year is criminal, while he turns top recruits into mediocre players. Dabo should retire and stick to his youth pastor job. LOL!

Think about this. If Cade is not ready yet for what ever reason then why won’t Dabo put in Hunter Johnson. We gave him a scholarship again and he was a 5 star when he came here the first time. He only left because he had to set behind Kelly Bryant who they thought deserved it for sitting behind DW, and then Trevor came. Yes I know he did not have a great career at Northwestern but tell who ever has. He has Div 1 experience and we have no clue what he could do. It’s at least worth a try

He was the architect of our amazing run of playoff appearances and championships. He hired the coaches and recruited the players who made that success happen.
Likewise, he is the architect of our 2021 and 2022 teams that have fallen well short of expectations. He hired the coaches and recruited the players who made those disappointments happen.

I think Streeter genuinely is not good enough to call plays. I think DJ gets way to much crap, between receivers dropping passes that are unacceptable to drop & bad play calling, DJ has struggled greatly. He is also in the wrong system. He is a pro-style QB in a dual threat system. There is a commonality between Boyd, Watson, Bryant & Lawrence….. all could run.
Everyone on here is acting like we’re never going to win a game again for the rest of Clemson existence but i genuinely think we are going to experience greatness again with Cade. Just have to figure out the play calling.
