Sure, last year they beat us in overtime, but that was the first time they had beaten us since 2014. That's almost a decade (and we play them every year). Does that really suggest they've past us by? With that logic, has SCar passed us by too because we lost to them in 2022 despite a decade of dominance?

to be fair you stopped at 8 games for a reason.
College football is all about what have you done lately and most recently they beat us. The tigers just have to go back down to FL and get a win. Should be a great game.
South Carolina was a fluke, shouldn't happen again anytime soon.

Is 8 games not a big enough sample size? We're 7-2 against them the last 10 years. Their only two wins were in overtime and 1 year they refused to play us because the coach knew they were about to get curb stomped (even though he masked it with Covid as the excuse). That's dominance either way you look at it. One recent win does not a "passed" make.

I think what Klatt is trying to say is...

1 - FSU beat us last year (although it was a game Clemson absolutely should have won),
2 - They had a better season than we did, and
3 - They arguably did more with the transfer portal in an attempt to improve their team.
The use of the transfer portal is largely the basis for his argument.
Does that mean FSU has passed Clemson in the ACC pecking order? Not hardly!

Plus FSU bought the best portal QB in the U.S. ..... the guy that lost his job at (checking notes....) the school that FSU has apparently surpassed - Clemson. Gotta love that Klatt logic.

that they passed us.
But if the question is are they better than us right now, the obvious answer is yes. They beat us last year, they had a better season than we did last year, and they did more since then to improve their team.

Their most notable "improvement to the team" is DJU at the QB position. He's basically a guy we threw away because he was passed by a true Freshman (who up to this point hasn't even been that good). I seriously doubt he will be an upgrade or an improvement from what they had last year at that position.

It was the best team they have had in years and we were not playing well and still should have won the game. Has FSU passed Clemson, not even close. They use the portal and lose some out of the portal, revolving door, how does that make them better. We have kids that want to come to Clemson and play at least 3 years. That my friend says the program is solid imo.

They have our old QB. They have a wholesale change of team, a team that was so poorly coached as to barely show up for a bowl. Bitter or not, they put up ZERO fight.
We have a QB who is a year older and showed improvement late. We have most of our D back and older and some new talent. We addressed our Oline issue... If our Oline is slightly better than last year, we will be better team as a team than last year.
None of this matters till someone spots the ball, but to say the "obvious answer" is they are better is ridiculous, unless you have a crystal ball (not the old championship trophy, mind you) We look pretty even and I think in my own biased opinion we look better. But the only answer is on the field.

Removing emotion and bias helps one be more objective.
Unless of course you just want to be a homer, which is fine, as long as you don't pretend to be reasonable.

I don't think CNN is perfect, but they do use real sources for their work.

The statements they debunk are generally well-supported by easily accessible links and documents.
Yet I'm guessing you don't believe them because you have already decided you don't like CNN, or don't like the "facts" they are debunking.

Nah the lack of viewership tells you that most logical folks know they are a joke.
Colbert the other night his audience erupts in laughter when he stated that CNN was objective.
In a startling revelation, recent data indicates a significant decline in CNN's ratings, plunging to a 33-year low. The network, which has been strongly opposed to former President Donald Trump for almost a decade, faces challenges with decreasing viewership amid tough competition in the cable news industry.
Your news choice is declining for one reason. They lie and have only one agenda. So obvious it’s kind of laughable that you would even defend them.
Fact checkers need fact checking. Do some research.

That's not based on any objective analysis. Florida St. did not bring guys, particularly at receiver, who have proven they can match the production they lost from last year. Now, maybe those guys they brought in do end up being that good, but no, as of now they certainly have not replaced the production they lost. That's even more critical because D.J. Uiagalelei needs more help from his receivers than Jordan Travis did.

Last year matters some but the other years have no relevance because those players are largely gone. Every year is different and we have a chance to take back the ACC but of course we have to beat NC State first.

FSUs sportswriters and the scum they cater to have passed us...if you don't do it on the field some stupid analysts will write about it anyway...there are actual license plates on autos in Florida claiming the savages were not national champs last year after Georgia curbstomped them...probably Biden voters!

Let’s see what year 2 of the transfer portal based model looks like for FSU. They hit on it big in one year but the bulk of those players are gone. Now they have a journeyman QB whose ceiling looks to be average at best. Tons of NFL talent to replace on both sides of the ball and many of their transfers have not contributed significantly to their former teams. FSU had no choice but to hit the portal hard. The program was lost for 5 years. It worked but not sure that is a long term solution. We all saw how their season ended when all the mercenaries bailed.
Considering Clemson has added Riley, Rump, and Luke plus added a very good recruiting class and retained a lot of talent, I don’t agree that FSU has done more to elevate their program. If the portal is the one measurable then yes. However, talent level in the coaching staff, player development, cohesiveness, and leadership are certainly a major factor. IMO, this team has some great player leadership.
Spot the ball!

One game does not define a trend. FSU improved greatly through use of the portal and having a better coach. Reality is that they had a great program that hit hard times when Jimbo left. ACC needs higher competition. Miami has been trying to turn that corner for years but their recruiting may make them another FSU turnaround story. It doesn't matter when Tigers beat them both
