I think I dislike them more. It just seemed to me like their 5 year run made them even more obnoxious. I've gotten to a point that I can't stand to see anything good happen for them. I think they only got 8 first downs Saturday and I was pissed about every one of them.

Actually I feel the same way. I have family and good friends on the OTHER SIDE. I try to avoid discussions about the rivalry, I try to be friendly. Having said that, I hope they never win any game in any sport. I’ve endured a lifetime of idiocitic comments and snide remarks from friends, family and strangers. At this point they are as subdued as I remember. Let’s keep it that way. Gooooooooooo TIGERS

They still have no humility. A few wins and they will be as obnoxious as ever!
When I was at Clemson, the US was heavily engaged in the Cold War. Yet my friends and I would all say if theGamecocks were playing USSR, we’d pull for the Russians!

Try living in Cootlumbia and be forced to listen to these

idiots year round. I want Clemson to win the football game every year by 100. I want Clemson to BEAT USuC in every sport every time. I moved to Cootlumbia 2 years into the 5 year losing streak. Try standing in line at the Wal-Mart while Coots tell you they can't wait to play the next football game. It is difficult to explain, unless you live here in Cootlumbia, how they act like a bunch of flaming A holes when they win anything of any significance.
I can't imagine how this fan base would react if they won the SECleast, the SEC and even got into the playoffs let alone win a national championship in football. So keep writing articles about how the series has lost its luster. As for me, I want to thank every Clemson athlete for beating USuC in everything, every time, all the time. Coot fans are the most delusional idiots I've ever come across and I have lived a lot of different places and watched a lot of different sports....

Been declining. Last 5 years they're silent. They don't even bring up football anymore. Up through the 90s it was a rivalry. 2004 and the fight was probably the end of it. We're on complete different levels.
Id just assume play UGA every year.

For the past 5 years I have made it a point to listen to the station the week after Clemson has won. Today at lunch the topic's were
1. USuK only lost by 35... not as bad we thought it was going to be therefore, 2. Joe Burrow/LSU is the QB/team in the country. Burrow is better than Lawrence and LSU will beat Ohio State by at least 17... The hatred for OSU is great.

When a fan base gets as far out of line as the coot fans have done over a game that they had won a few more than usual, they don't deserve winning. Winning is suppose to cause fans to be happy with bragging rights, it didn't do that for the coots, it cause them to get violent and as ugly and vial as human being can get or be. They deserve what they have right now, losing for them is like a xanax or a valium for overactive angry people, it calms them to the point of tolerable!!! Losing equals the diazepam effect for the coot fan base!!!

I was at the game and bought tickets from a Coot season ticket holder as many of the SC fansknew they didn't stand a chance.
I do feel like everything got subdued when Musdump decided to try and run the ball and take as much time off the clock. It was obvious that he was just trying to keep the score from being 63 to 3.
There was energy after we didn't convert on the 4th and goal from the 1. After the INT and then TD, many of the Coots were sitting down and where browsing other interests on their phones.
I would love for us to beat them for 20 plus times in a row. However, it felt like we were playing Wofford.
Th4 game was never in doubt and SC never threatened.
They probably should fire Muschamp and at least get a coach in who is going to try and win the game.
It is more fun beating them when their delusional fanbase thinks they are going to win.

They talk about how great the team played and it proves they can compete with elite teams which simply isn't the case.
While they played better than Georgia, Georgia was absolutely horrendous but still dominated uof6c in every statistical category.

I think that the best thing for that fan base would be for us to win 10 in a row on them. With our Tigers mostly always being the best team, that would make a mark that they would know they could never equal, and I think that would cause them to appreciate a win over us, and not turn them into rabid dogs.
When they won that 5 straight on us, they believed that their world in the rivalry had turned to their favor for ever, they even said as much with the likes of Ellis making statement like their conference and conference money had propelled them so far out in front of Clemson that we would never catch back up, and that was music to their ears, and they believed that it was finally their time to rule over us, and they plain and simply overreacted the wrong way. They didn't know how to win gracefully, it caused them to release all their pent up anger that had built up in them over the years with us winning the most of the rivalry games.
They believed bc Todd Ellis convinced them that the hire of Dabo Swinney would lead to a total crash of the Tiger FB program, and when that didn't happen, it made they hate us even more with a passion. Six in a row has finally beat them into submission, we didn't only get even, we very easily topped them with no end in sight bc of how far out in front of them our program is over theirs talent wise, and Todd Ellis with a mic in his hand had made them believe that is what was going to happen with their program!!! Ellis help lead them to their demise as a fan base bc it was his talk that made them believe that our dominance over them was over, and it was over BC of the hire of Dabo Swinney, and they would move way out in front of us. Then Spurrier's down fall and Dabo's climb to the top!!! This is what I believe!!!

Northwestern 0-34 bad, Kansas State pre-Bill Snyder bad. And as for rivalry? I'm looking for Notre Dame over Navy 43 in a row bad. Why stop at 6 when there is so much more pain to be inflicted? They just keep talking, so we need to just keep b slapping. I won't be happy till their own students wonder if they even have a team or not. Till they think Willy B was built as a monster truck and BMX rally stadium. There is no depth low enough for that garbage fan base.

I had family members at the game and were early tailgaters. They said the same thing, that the atmosphere was quiet and subdued. Two things: 1) David Hood is correct about the talent level and the Coots were well aware of what was about to happen and 2) The new President at SC had police arrest some of the crazies at the App State game and put the fear of God into the crowd that he is not going to tolerate the behavior we have seen there over the years. It has had a chilling effect on the students already.

I am 100% okay with the state of this rivalry
Dec 2, 2019, 9:33 AM
|
|
Because:
+ All the SCar fans at work and in my social circles have stopped crowing and I love the quiet + The ones that do crow look ridiculous doing it, and they know it + I cannot remember ever being so relaxed going into rivalry week or the game itself; my blood pressure and stomach acid levels both appreciate this, as does my family + Thanksgiving is way less tense now; my brother and sister-in-law are both SCar graduates, and though neither follow SCar very closely, they (and their son) love to get in their digs when SCar is looking competitive
I know for a fact that the next time they win, they'll all emerge from the woodwork as loud and aggressive as ever. Fortunately, it looks like it may be several years before I have to deal with this. In the meantime I just keep quiet and give a big smile anytime one of their fans tries to start static.
IOW for me, boring is good. Right now anyway. I'd rather concentrate on championships anyway.

I totally disagree. That rooster crowing all the time in the background is as annoying as ever.
Trevor was 26 out of 36, but he was a little off early on or the score could have been so much more fun. Shoulda scored on that first drive. I was a little disappointed to not score 50 on Moosechump.

In their defense a noon kick helped a little
Dec 2, 2019, 11:07 AM

I go home for Thanksgiving every year and have been to most of the games the last 10 years. 2019 and 2015 were both noon games and fairly civil. 2017 was a night game and even though we killed them, the environment was very hostile. They just hadn't has time to get drunk yet. There's a huge difference between noon and evening kickoffs.

I guess them city boys don't know about having a couple of beers with your eggs and sausage.
I NEVER want to lose to them again, but i would like to see them be able to compete. They have had a rough year - toughest schedule in the nation, lost their starting QB, tons of injuries
These are still young men - competitive athletes - I like to see them have a good year, come into the game with us believing they can whip us - and then CRUSH them.

I agree, I think it would be good for our state if this game meant something on the national stage. I'd like to see them ranked in the top 10 and destroy their behinds - unless they dig up Lombardi, that's never going to happen.

Hell no! They haven't even lost 15 in a row like UVa vs VPI or like 14 or so in a row Army vs Navy. 38-3, was OK, but 83-3 was needed.

Been a Clemson fan my entire life, finished at CU, Cheered, wore the Tiger uniform, love Clemson to death! Grew up in Cootlumbia and lived there 49 years other than school. Have moved to Africa, but to this day littlecoot friends talk nasty trash to me all the time. Several years ago they talked that Dabo was cheating thorough New springs, then the unfortunate episode last year with the unknown steroid, they talked junk that we're juicing our players, or we don't play anybody!!!! I SAY THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN WHIPPING THEIR SORRY #####!!!! I'VE ALWAYS SAID A GREAT FALL SATURDAY IS WHEN WE WIN AND THEY LOSE, ABSOLUTELY I HATE THEM. AND SADLY ONE DAY WE WILL CYCLE OUT, BUT IT WON'T HAPPEN FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!!! SO LETS WHIPEM #### GOOD EVERY OPPORTUNITY WE GET!!! 71-42-4 AND NEXT YEAR WILL BE 72!!!! HATE THEM, THEIR COMPLETE AHOLES!!! GO TIGERS!!!

Agree but if you look at the history of the series, the tables always turn. The sad thing is without a stronger ACC, we have no game each year to get excited about. Too bad Notre Dame is not on the schedule every year.

71-42-4
The tables seem to only turn OVER on the chickens . They've been mathematically out of being able to call this a rivalry since the late 1960's .

Waaah. No sorrow here. Their 5-bombs and “Keep Dabo” sealed it

Dabo was just a cheerleader, they would say. Meanwhile, I’d tell them “well that cheerleader is slowly building a solid program, so you guys better enjoy it while you can!”
Here’s to wanting it to continue to lack passion and intensity while we look to shatter the current record streak of 7 that we own against the dirt peckers!

Maybe it was off because Spurrier (and Todd Ellis) told them that beating Clemson doesn’t matter!
When he said that I remember saying that would change when we beat them ! It did! But all of the non-USC grads have jumped off the bandwagon now! And the die-hard USC fans know!

We will run this streak into double digits. They won 5 in a row. Now they are reaping what they sowed. We are not acting like they did. Beat them like drums get beaten. Its REALLY NICE NOT HEARING THEM CLUCKING. ?????? GO TIGERS!!!
