I think KB is a nice guy, and I genuinely hope that he does well in the future. Anyone see Trevor Lawrence against undefeated N.C. State?? Has another QB, based on what we've seen thus far, ever been better at Clemson?? If so, tell me who. There's a risk for any player coming to an elite program like Clemson----It's called competition!!! As Harry Truman once said, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." And then, there is Chase who would start at most other D-1 schools!! Anyone notice that 94 yard drive he engineered against mighty N.C. State?? KB was simply out of his depth at Clemson. And we have the number 1 HS QB in the country already committed. I do hope that KB realizes his dream to play in the NFL. Can't see it happening---hope I'm wrong.

There was this kid a few years ago who was pretty good. I think he's playing for the Texans now.

I still don't quite understand why this transfer has gotten so much air time, especially this many weeks after it happened. It's not like Kelly Bryant is a superstar QB, or a future NFL player. It's way past time to move on.

Judge, I believe ESPiN has some agenda they want to push either to gain more influence in CFB or to drive ratings with a controversial topic...or both.

I agree what is the agenda ESPN is trying to push?? The transfer happened it’s over and Clemson has won three in a row outscoring their opponents 131-33. With five games to go this team has the same amount of plays that went for 50+ yards (12) as they did all of last year. Last year Clemson had 61 explosive plays. That’s a play of twenty yards are more. This years offense is at 45. KB moved on, and that was the best thing for the team. Sadly had he moved on earlier this team would’ve been better off because Hunter Johnson May have stayed. ESPN doesn’t want to let this story die and it’s as if they want to try to make Clemson and coach Swinney look bad. I’m shocked that the race card hasn’t been mentioned at this point. They’re trying everything to keep the story going. Does anyone care? Are there programs all over the country dreaming of landing KB? Look at where he’s visiting? Coach Swinney did right by this young man and KB made his choice. The story they should be talking about is Nick Bosa and OSU. There’s a young man that literally quit. Quit on his school his coach and his teammates. The best defensive player on a highly ranked team announces he’s quiting and the very next game, against Purdue (a 13.5 point underdog) the defense gives up 49 points and 540 yards of total offense. The Crushing emotional ripple effect of Bosa quitting as well as the media’s mild attention to it caused a distraction and look what happened?? It shows what an amazing program the coaches have built at Clemson. The team lost what they thought was a leader, a viable QB and they had to put their trust in a true freshman. Those guys that came back didn’t quit or get upset. They instead had the kids back. He gets hurt. More distractions. A former teammate tragically passes away, a huge distraction and what happens?? 131-33 that’s what happens. That should be the story. KB isn’t a story he isn’t even that good. Watch the Alabama again and trust me, you’ll see that too.

The Kelly situation has already been too much of a distraction this season. Please let this be the last article posted about KB. Let's focus our attention on what could be the best team we have ever fielded. I love how this team is developing into a machine. We are finally starting to throttle our opponents. The sky is the limit with the 2018 Tigers!

How fitting that Maria Taylor done the interview. She was so critical of Dabo in defense of KB when it first happened. Good luck to KB anyways. Hope he finds a good home for his one year.

I sincerely hope Kelly Bryant will be ok mentally once his 15 minutes of fame are up. Espn, Maria, and every other sports news outlet will drop him in a heartbeat once his story is no longer a draw. When that happens you can bet the farm Dabo and company will stiil be here for KB.

I have totally convinced myself that KB is a reasonable (yet emotional) young man, and that his comments to the media were made out of a context we're not privy to. But he made them, so those words are reportable as news, even though they make him look far worse than Dabo.
I think Kelly wanted assurances of future playing time, and Dabo told him it was to be earned on a continuous basis. I think Dabo told him that Chase would probably also pass him on the 2-deep (i can't imagine Dabo wanting to have this same conversation again later), so any real contributions he would make would only be after an injury.
Nobody in the know wants to make KB look bad by saying, "KB was about to drop to third string," but based on Chase's game performance, that change was inevitable.

Jelly Kelly was very fortunate to start an entire year at Clemson. He simply struggled at reading a defense, being able to audible and having basic throwing skills. Kelly was depending on “other factors” to keep him the starter but Dabo showed intestinal fortitude and called his bluff. The “other factors” is what Maria is trying to get brought up. Wait and see what having to face SEC defenses every week will bring out.

The "other factors" included the ability to break defenders' ankles and run through tackles.

When the change was made, KB was playing well and TL was still quite green. Total offensive production (rushing and passing) was roughly even between KB and TL. So I can see why he was upset.
Still, the coaching staff knew that it was only a matter of time. KB would have done well against the porous run defenses of Syracuse and Wake, but I think TL would have left no doubt in the NC State game.
KB absolutely was going to play, but he was not going to have the role he wanted. I think the staff wanted to use him as a short yardage specialist and all-around athlete. As the coaches became more confident in TL and CB, he would have been used more in these non-QB roles. He would have made contributions—and scored a LOT of TDs—but his dreams of being an NFL QB would have been done.

KB's dream of being an NFL QB ended last year in the game against Alabama. He better make a move before next season and get a full season of good exposure in a new position or he's done. Good luck KB.

They weren't as even as you are making it out to be, honestly:
You have RB's that can run that you are taking from the production of with a run heavy QB....check the stats where Etienne sits right now in Rushing TD's, yards, yards per carry, etc. You don't keep a QB because he can run....he has to be what his position requires, a thrower, and well, see above. That was at the time the decision was made. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/college-trevor-lawrence-is-the-right-guy-for-clemson

It is depressing how quick people will turn on you.
I wonder how many people on this board have every put in as much work or commitment toward anything as KB put in at Clemson. The guy is 22 years old and is fighting as hard as he can to get one shot in the NFL. Give him a break.

It's equally depressing how quickly he turned on Dabo, don't you think? Hasn't spoken to him....acted like he wasn't given a chance. Sometimes, it's also about the way you decide to handle yourself when you make a decision more so than the decision itself.
