I'll never understand how these teams fold at the end of games

Duke looked great almost all game but the last 2 min they could not do the most basic things right. That was one of the ugliest in bound passes I've seen in a while.

Their inability to inbound the basketball was unreal. Credit to Houston for being resilient and giving themselves a chance to win. Great, entertaining game.

You have to carefully watch the replays. Houston was extremely physical the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game especially on the inbound passes. Houston was literally holding Duke players sometimes with two hands to keep them from getting the pass. Duke lost because of the physicality and desire to run the clock out instead of playing to win an old Coach K philosophy.

The fatigue of the Duke team really started much earlier. They scored one FG for something like a 9 minutes down the stretch. Eventually leaving themselves vulnerable to bad officiating or an unlucky break. The pressure D at the end just put a microscope on how much the older Houston players had worn them down.

Holding a player with 2 hands is a foul...

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Duke hardly played any close games all year

They were very inexperienced in that situation, and I would also say that getting the ball in against that Houston pressure at the end was anything but basic.

and yet a team that beat both them and Kentucky folded in the NCAAT. Talk about panicking and not being ready for the moment in post season. Extremely disappointing for a veteran group

They looked exhausted. The missed shots are a reflection of that. They couldn't overcome Houston's defensive pressure.

Houston was the stronger willed team. They willed themselves that win!
