back and eat crow? Hate his persona if you must; but no one who has actually watched him play can have any opinion other than that he’s a supremely talented player who’s almost always the best player on the field.

I have my doubts about him being able to play offense and defense at the professional level though. Many athletes in the past tried the same and it never really works out.

I can understand thinking the Jags gave up too much to move up, but I have no idea how anyone could hate the player they drafted. He could conceivably fill two of their greatest needs. Sure their offensive line sucked last year, but they've signed a couple guys in free agency and still have plenty of picks to acquire additional talent there so not sure where the issue lies at this point.

Shore why not, but it ain’t gonna happen
He’s got generational ball skills; think Randy Moss or Deandre Hopkins He’s smart And most importantly he loves ball; I bet he’s already halfway through the Jags playbook
Most of the haters are just transferring their feelings about Prime onto this kid; he’s a football player plain and simple

Lol he was great at the collegiate level against crappy teams. I think he'll be good, but I'm not putting him in Canton yet.

he has a lot better chance of excelling than the guy who was taken before him; since we’re talking about excelling against crappy teams.

Top Noth defender is what he will be. NFL corners and safeties are going to rough him up. He is a great player, but the jags messed up by trading up unless he was their number #1 cornerback on tbe board. He should have been top 12 in WR'S. There are better recievers still available. Just my take.

He’ll play a lot of snaps, which is why he won the Heisman. The RB from Boise State should have won it.

There is a big distinction between hating the pick & hating the player. I for one have gone on record stating I did not like this pick & it has nothing to do with Hunter & his playing ability. I believe Hunter was the 2nd best player & maybe the most talented player in the entire draft but he wasn’t what the Jags needed. They need protection for Lawrence & weapons for Lawrence so what did they draft a part time WR that is going to play many snaps at DB. All the professionals who elevate talent agree that he could be a very good to maybe even great WR but his skill level & talent could make him an elite CB. It is much harder to find an elite shutdown CB than it is to find a great WR that’s just fact. So Hunter’s real value lies as a DB not a WR. Jags gave up way too much for player whose best position is at CB & he will probably just spot play at WR. I know a lot of this is my opinion, but none of it is based on dislike Hunter as a player. I think Hunter is a future All Pro. I just think it will be All Pro at CB not WR.

The Jags have already indicated they'll start him out primarily as a WR and gradually work him as a CB. He would have likely been the highest rated WR in this class even if he didn't play defense. It's definitely a fair point to argue they gave up too much to get him but he's gonna be playing alot of WR right away, which should provide immediate help to TL.

I still say he is too valuable as a shutdown CB not to play a lot of snaps on defense. We just have to disagree about this pick. I am still not a fan, but time will tell.

TL has got to have time to throw the ball. Build your team from the inside out. I don’t care who they have at wideout they are not going to win anything relevant until that gets fixed. Hunter will increase ticket sales though.

Travis Hunter was drafted for his defensive skills. His job will be a CB1. He may get a small package on offense as receiver too, but that will a secondary responsibility.

No he was drafted by the jags to be a wide receiver and initially a 3rd down CB

Multiple analysts present in GB at the draft have reported that this is Jacksonville's intent.

Travis Hunter has talent and hand/eye coordination

I would have preferred he ran a 40, and there's a reason he did not. I would have preferred the Jags did not give away their 2026 1st round pick. I would have preferred the Jags to select an o-lineman as the Jags O-linemen have been some of the worst in the league since TL16 was drafted. Hopefully, they pick up some blockers in the next few rounds.
There's a reason Lawrence was injured 8 of his last 9 games in 2024. His line su-cks.
The "going both ways" is a college gimmick that will not survive in the NFL. There's a reason Deion Sanders and other supreme talents since Jim Thorpe did not play every snap in the game.

are you paying attention to the jags off season signings? if so, you'd know they have been addressing those concerns.

I was kinda hoping the Jags would get Renfrow on the cheap.
He's still one helluva possession receiver and don't let anybody tell ya any different.
No way that happens now though unless they see Hunter as more of a shutdown CB than WR.

I see him as being very similar to Deion. Extremely talented and an ego to match. I was a Dolphin fan most of my life and I felt the same way about Marino for at least the first half of his career. Same with Brady. They are very good at what they do. But they like themselves enough that it’s ok if I don’t like them.
