Have we played an Offense like Alabama's? FSU maybe

Just wondering if we have a point of refernce we can look at. Most of the teams we've played run the spread/read option

FSU is the closest but they're not as physical imo. I trust our run D a lot and I see no reason why to change my opinion. Cook is just as good (different skill sets) as Henry

The reason our d is so good is because Alexander automatically shuts down one side of the field every single game. So right from the start, they are already handicapped in the passing game.
If we limit Henry, I don't see them scoring more then 17 points.

No. They are probably the best run between the tackles team in the nation. They struggled the first half of the year but have been brutal in the last half. It will be a good game. They will grind on our D.

their offense will be a match-up problem for us, as will ours for them. But if we can shut down their run and make them one dimensional, like we did the sooners, it could be a long day for them.

They already ARE one dimensional on offense . They are not multiple sets and misdirection, they are ground and pound . They use the run to set up the pass .
Clemson must force them to pass when they don't want to , in other words...when they are trailing late .

I've got to wonder just ho,w much of the Tide you've seen this season.
If you look at the plays in 2015 roughly six of ten are running plays. If you look at the Clemson in 2015, roughly six of ten plays are running plays.
If we take total yards on the season you'll find about a 600 yard difference in passing vs running for the Tigers in 2015.
Looking at the Tide, you'll only see about a 200 yard difference: balanced production exemplified.
If you take a look at all the games this season you'll find nine of the fourteen having more passing yards than rushing.
Yet, you'll assert "already one dimensional?"

It will be an interesting game. We do not have the ideal defensive personnel to deal with their offense. Likewise, they have the wrong defensive personnel to deal with our offense.

VT 2-3 years ago & Miami wanted to play that style

If we wear down Bamer 1st, it will be a great second half to see us dominate their OL and DL.
We did expose that we are deep on our defensive line. Everybody contributed along the D line.
We ran OU defense to death in the first half. Stoops halftime interview showed on his face that his team was worn out and missing tackles. He's always so upbeat at halftime but looked stunned at halftime.
This game will be a battle but we could win big if the guys follow the game plan and hold on to the ball and create turnovers. I like the DeShaun vs. Henry match up. DeShaun is much better and he will show Bama who is the best.
We can make history and shut up Espin up about and hour. This team isn't going away.
Go Tigers! 14 and 0 and we will make history and be 15 & 0!

We have to win at the point of attack, in the trenches.
We are the team one would hypothetically build to beat Bama.
This isn't like last time we played them with Tommy bowden and a lot of talent but weak up front. That clemson team finished 3rd or 4th in the acc Atlantic while Bama swept the sec regular season. That was the beggining of the end for Bowden, which gave us Dabo, and a complete team that's earned #1.

I'd say FSU's offense is an accurate comparison

Both pretty much rely on the deep ball off of play action to get anything going in the passing game. I know people want to praise Coker for the game he played the other night but I'd compare that to Maguire's game vs Syracuse considering Michigan State's pass d is one of the worst in the nation. He looked like a world beater vs them and his stats came WAY back down to earth against us.

LOL! Henry ran for 200 yards against LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Florida. Ya'll ain't LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Florida! You're Duke, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech....or OMG, FLORIDA STATE, the team that lost to Houston. Our deep passing game is the absolute weakness of our offense. It's the biggest weakness we have! You guys might as as well get ready to watch Henry running a touchdown, Henry running a touchdown, and Henry running another touchdown. There's a reason we held him out. He only carried it 20 times. We saved him to bury your butts. Because your D-line doesn't even COMPARE with Michigan States. Your defensive line will be about the eighth best we've faced all season. You don't have a prayer. Get ready for it. I wouldn't be this aggressive, but I wrote a nice letter congratulating you and your non-fifth grade graduaters were worse than rude. Get mad, get p.o'ed, reply, jump all over me, but get ready. Think about me on january 11th lol.. We're gonna kick your butt beyond belief. Enjoy the time between now and then....and by all means....get your hopes up. We've been there. You don't have a clue. Roll Tide!

Almost every single one of our players were offered by Bamer so what are you talking about??? Our defense is by far the most athletic you guys have seen and you will learn a week from Monday. I know you think y'all are head and shoulders above everyone but you are about to see what a real hitting football team looks and feels like. Get ready buddy. We come to play.

Again, I came here trying to be nice. Nobody was interested. I've never been treated more rudely by a fan base, in my life. Therefore, We will beat your brains out. We've been there, you haven't. Watson will look at our front seven and freak. Dabo will walk around with his fist pump and then look across the field at Saban, and go, "Oh crap".. He ain't Saban. I repeat, he ain't Saban. The star of the national championship game will be Derrick Henry. Count on it. We'll line up our offensive line, aim straight at your defensive line, and crush them. Bad. Good luck. With all due respect, I have no respect for your program. I have never been treated so rudely by a group of fans, by any team. Fix a strong drink. That's my advice. You've got a lot to learn, and you're about to learn it. sip!

You chime in about disrespect but the posts I see you chiming in on has nothing to do with you. I am but a simple Clemson guy though,so you most likely exist on a plane higher than myself. And you being a bama fan we know you expect the masses to bow,but well that just ain't how Clemson people are made, son. So be offended. Have fun watching as Clemson wears down your defense much the same way we gassed OU's defense. GO TIGERS!!

allispi, You keep talking about how you are being disrespected on this board but you started off lying saying that you were a writer. Now you, I and everyone on here know that isn't true. You make trollish backhanded remarks and when you got called out you have turned into this whatever you are now. Fact is no matter how much you have been disrespected, Disinfranchised or otherwise persecuted it will not affect the outcome of this game one bit. Now take your trolling elephant fat Alabama ### back to whatever board you have friends on and let them know that the Clemson nation are a heartless bunch that means business on and off the field. Kk?

Wow,
You are are right we aren't LSU, Miss St, Ole Mi$$, Mich St, AUB, FL or whoever else. This is the best team in the country. This defense has dominated offenses better than anything on your schedule and is still statistically better than any you have faced. I won't compare the Clemson offense to anything Alabama has faced... because that's a joke. The only decent offense you guys played, Ole Mi$$ beat you.
Let me make it clear. Clemson is both the best offense and the best defense you have played this year. If your players go into the game with your mentality it ain't going to be pretty.
"Graduaters" ...where do these SEC people come from?

This is a weird post, confusing.
When you played LSU in 2012's bowl game you won by one point. That LSU team finished the season with three losses; Clemson, Florida, and Alabama. There was a huge disparity in total yards in the game with Clemson having more than twice as many, as I recall. However, Clemson was also playing catch-up the entire game; the lead only coming 0:00 on the clock.
Now, not only is the comment weird, it's down right funny you mention a win over Auburn in 2012 in a conversation about the Tide offense. A nice win in ATL is what that looked like to start the season; it ended up being a three win Auburn team. That same Auburn team was taken to the wood shed and beaten like a red headed step child by Bama that season; 49-0.

It became clear in your "nice" letter that you thought it a compliment... as did an eSECpn hack... to consider Clemson comparable to the the SEC West. Not in the least. Perhaps you should consider that Alabama is the only team in the SEC who would compete at the top of the ACC. And forget the SEC lEast as a whole.
Your post was as egotistical and as arrogant as they come.
This last post is worse and exposes who you really are. No class, no grace.

but because most of his throws were pretty short. He did look better on his longer passes than normal, but his completion % was so high because not a lot of those passes were long.

FSU seems like the best comparison - pro-style, physical, mediocre qb and a beast at rb. I think the qb's make the difference in this game. If we can neutralize Henry, force 3rd downs where Coker has to make a play, and have Mack lock down Ridley, I think we win the game by 10. Our secondary and qb positions are not even on the same planet with MSU.

Boston College: Same system being run by 2 star instead of 4/5 star personnel. ND. Similar system but still inferior personnel.
We have to keep in mind that Kiffin still has the true west coast play book in at Bama. He opens up pages of it at times. We could see a spread type offense if situation dictates.

What's it matter what plays they call if Coker can't get them the ball? Go back and watch how many times Mayfield had to scramble yesterday. Coker is not a mobile QB. He will be on his back for most of the game and shook for the rest of it. The real match up is our offense vs the Bama defense.
