I thought Cuifo was a starter lock?

I see Paino started at SS today. I have only been able to watch 2 games so far this season. Has Cuifo been struggling or is Paino just better? First game I watched McCladdie was in RF which I expected Crighton there and last time I saw McCladdie play last year he usually stepped in at 1B. Now I see McCladdie is playing 3B.
I know EB is playing with the team but looks like Jarrel, Cam, and Purify are the only ones locked at this point.
Who do you think will be the Friday starters?

Cuifo is a great defender, but isn’t the best bat. We’ve also been mixing up the lineup to see who can play where and who can separate themselves. Bakich was saying on the radio that McLaddie can play 7 positions, and will be hard to keep out of the lineup

Ciufo's bat is marginal...And Paino's glove is just as good if not better.

to keep out of the starting lineup.... So, CEB has to let them all play as much as possible.... Good problem to have! CJ Bailey had great outing in relief! Good sign for pitching....

Ciufo is loved but his bat is underwhelming. It was last year and so far this year not any better. He will still get his playing time but, against South Carolina, I want the best hitters out there. McCladdie is playing well in the field and his bat has arguably been the best besides Listi so far.

Why does evryone kill Cuifo's bat. Until last night he was out hitting Cam, Gafney and Purify. Here's the lineup I would like to see this weekend.

My eye balls tell me he is the weak link in the lineup. Batting him 8th/9th in the lineup and trying Paino out at SS tells me the coaches might be thinking the same thing. He had some really rough AB's against average/below-average pitchers from NC A&T and VCU.

Can’t keep Gaffney off of first. He’s the best defensive first baseman we have by far. The dude picks everything.

Gaffney'snot seeing it right now. Too high of a swing and miss. I'd go with Priest at 1B and Bissetta DH for now. I'd rather have a thumper at 1B than a gold glove. Gaffney is hitting .238 and leads the team in K's. It's early and they have given him every chance, maybe he gets it together, maybe not.

Paino is really good and hard to keep off the field. DH is a great option.

You haven't been paying attention! Coach Bakich said that a lot of different players will be playing the first few weeks of the season, even at different positions, before establishing a firm line-up. Even then I think you will see some changes as more than 9 guys will deserve playing time. I expect to see Cuifo back at short.
