Could it be that Erik Bakich has our Baseball team on a fast pace to the Omaha and playing for a Baseball National Championship???

probably going to go too high in the MLB draft to ever set foot on a college campus. Butt, we can dream!

yep its a fine line get a great player but not so good they leave for MLB before enrolling. I think baseball recruiting is the toughest sport for that aspect.

Maybe NIL can change that narrative as these ypunger draftees often play in minors for few yrs and that life isnt great minus the signing bonus they get from draft day.

I wish. This kid may well be the highest Clemson verbal committed ever drafted. Texas oil money could pony up enough nil but that's doubtful too. First or 2nd round. 🤞 that the kid wants the college on campus experience.

I have mentioned that very same thing before, the NIL could slow elite baseball recruits from overlooking a college education and going straight into the major world right out of HS!!! There isn't any doubt in my mind that the NIL will be a great incentive for baseball recruits to get a college education before entering the major league draft...

Agreed and then there's the chance of injury and/or his stock dropping in college. It's pretty rare to get one like this to enroll.

It isn't fair to add the risk of injury as a reason to hurry into the draft of any league. Nobody knows when an accident is about to happen that will cause a serious injury and that could happen on the way to signing the contract, and if it does, you're not getting paid for anything with the exception of what may cause the injury!!! If the kids can get NIL money and it don't have to be a huge amount, just enough to help while in college, a good college education is hands down the best thing for a recruit wanting to play a pro sport bc there is no guarantee how long it would last, and a college education will last a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember, the ‘26 class likely will be full scholarships plus some amount of revenue share. Then factor in a little NIL for the top recruits in the class and these kids have something to think about instead of directly going the draft route. More of them may forgo the rigors of the minors at 18 yrs old.

Great addition, perhaps too great. If he plays college ball in preference to signing professionally, he will be a great asset to helping us to return to Omaha.

Baseball recruiting is the most pointless thing in all of sports to follow. Getting elite recruits means nothing as majority of them never step foot on campus.
