where you are not rated by how great you can convey knowledge to kids who want to learn, but instead rated on how good they are at going to school and continuing education, with little regard for the outcome of their students...

And there are a lot of good teachers; but their worthless, lazy and/or incompetent peers give them a bad name while simultaneously getting paid the same wage.
I have yet to meet a good teacher that opposes performance-based pay. They aren't scared that their students will test poorly and keep them from getting a raise.
Not that there aren't lazy people in all professions. It's just that it's easier to get rid of them.

well I say that for a couple of reasons..
#1. I am a teacher and it sucks seeing all the ######### who have to have someone else carry their sorry lazy selfs all the time..
#2. I have kids who have some sorry teachers as well.
