Brandon Thomas pretty much dominated him all night...

On Clowney's one sack, Thomas did exactly what he was supposed to do on an oustide rush and pretty much whipped Clowney on the play by escorting him downfield well past the QB. Why Boyd decided to go backwards and outside rather than step up in the pocket was just a case of bad mechanics and Boyd being frustrated and antsy.
Clowney was basically a non-factor, and I hope he gave Shaw a huge thank-you after the game.

I think he was effective at changing clemsons strategy because he has to be accounted for due to his ability. He had one sack and a solid hit on TB as he was releasing the ball which fluttered incomplete. He also tackled RM in backfield. I think he had to be accounted for because the usc defense had 5 sacks against clemson o-line - the highest sacks per game this year. Clowney also hurried Boyd and made him throw "crazy balls" or interceptions. He says he is going to go to NFL after bowl game. The OT facing Clowney did not get abused like he did last year - credit to Dabo and Morris with double teams and chips to help out. Still projected first or second pick - ahead of Boyd or Watkins if you put stock in ESPN information.

should get credit for Clowney's sack...BT was manhandling him and instead of stepping up, TB ran right into him...And Hot Rod ran through all of JC's arm tackles but one...He underachieved this year and this game...Anything else is just ROOSTER POOP...

the fact is the final score was 31-17. USC defense had a season high 5 sacks (thanks to Clowney being doubled and chipped), 2 int's, etc., I don't think any clemson player dominated anything except the turnover category. If that is chicken poop I hate to think what Bama is going to do to us!

And like many people have already said, TB handed clowney his only sack. I know ur a coot but u have to give credit where credit is due and Brandon Thomas dominated him all night.

not a coot! just a college football fan. BT did a good job no doubt, but if you look at the film Clowney was doubled a lot which is the right move on Dabos part. This makes it easier for other d linemen for usc to get to TB. Clemson should have kept running the ball with RM. Second half TB was rattled and Clowney was in his head - if you disagree with that send me some of your orange kool aid you are obviously drinking! The coots handled the tigers, I think it was more mental than physical though. Should have pounded RM between tackles and swept ends with Watkins speed - long throws and screens thrown in to keep them honest. The thumb hurts - i understand your pain.

Not really much more to say than that. We don't need 2 cents (and a rather poor analysis at that) from another coot, thanks anyway though.

yes... but what people(especially c$$ts and ESPN) fail to see is that clown has been handled b y other O/T`s! he has made his reputation on plays that are missed assignments and missed blocks. that ILLEGAL PLAY against Mich the guard blocked down and the tackle bloch-ked out and he had clear shot at the runner.. he then hit hio with the crown of his helmet under his chin!!

I understand that the truth hurts - wish I could say something positive about the game from a tiger point of view but that is not possible since the tigers got spanked again. 5 sacks, 2 int's, generous turnovers and a Tiger QB that looked really nervous when he needed to be cool under pressure - I guess Clowney was right about Boyd being scared. Thanks - you proved my point. Next tiger stomping: Alabama.

Unfortunately, he didn't have to do too much as we did a lot to ourselves. Beasley would be in New York if he had "a hit" in the post season like Clowney did. Clowney did not live up to the hype this year, but I still see him going pretty #### high in the draft. He'll laugh all the way to the bank and rightfully so. Despite the bad year he's still a beast.

Vic Beasley played a great game. And the fact that the man lined up across from him held longer than crazy glue while only getting called for it twice was unreal. Look we lost. We had the turnovers. Some of them to the credit of SC, but I just had a funny feeling that the ACC crew was so afraid to throw flags against SC and there be any room left for doubt that their calls led to Clemson ending the streak. I looked over and my dad and told him about mid 1st quarter that we were in trouble due to the officials.
Is it an excuse? Call it what you will. We sure as heck have heard our fair share out of the other camp for so long. SC will laugh at us for bringing up turnovers, but have no problem pointing to turnovers against Florida in 2012 as the biggest reason they lost.

I'm going to pretend that you did not just blame the loss on the officials - that is a new one. 5 sacks, 2 int's., 3 turnovers from fumbles (2 strips by usc d or special teams) and the only thing you have is blame it on the refs? Give USC credit and be a man - Tigers were dominated. Alabama will do the same in a major way. What will be your excuse for that game?

2 strips on social teams? Boy I'm pretty sure you didn't watch the game and are just guessing what happened. You probably looked at the espn game recap to get your analysis lol

no I was there in person to watch the tigers get housed again! one strip by usc d and one special teams strip and one punt muff to be specific. Spurrier stomps tigers again - the thumb is not your friend. Roll tide - another little acc team gets pounded by the big boys in the orange bowl to come - gotta love it! Maybe belk bowl is more your speed!

Not being smart at all. I challenge you to go back and watch the game again. Watch the LT and how many times he held. It was unreal.
