Swinney: The win was good, but Tigers left "too much chicken on the bone"
Second-ranked Clemson walked out of Saturday’s game against Georgia Southern with a 38-7 victory, improving to 3-0 on the season with conference play starting next week. The Tigers rolled up 595 total yards of offense and rushed for over 300 yards, but head coach Dabo Swinney still wants to see more out of his offense. There was too much chicken left on the bone. I like that depth is such that if you're hungry you get a chance. It builds quality performance

That's what I have been saying for weeks now, there are some on here who believe that if someones opinion isn't exactly as their own, they get busy with TD-ing every post that doesn't go with their way of seeing things as if no one is entitled to a different opinion than their own. Those are the type that will break the ruler when they don't measure up to the way they want to be measured, they are small in every measurement!!!

If you don’t have anything to add to the discussion, just keep your mouth shut !!! You’ll get yours someday for such verbiage. You obviously have an extremely limited vocabulary and probably never saw the inside of a Clemson U classroom. I’m betting you are a Clemson imposter !!!!

I have never seen a college team with so much talent on offense look like a flat tire. 3 games in the books and same vanilla performance. Maybe my expectations were too high before the season started?

He's a dumper. Maybe he should just let the coaches that have taken us to the playoffs do the coaching. We are undefeated. How dare he think there is room for improvement. ^_^

Yeah in 3 games, I haven't seen this team play with a killer instinct yet. They want to win the game, but they dont march on the field ready to beat the other team. Not saying that wont come, but that chip on the shoulder mentality to go out and prove something just hasn't showed up yet. We will see if it developes as the season goes on. 2016 team starter similarly looking that way against Auburn then it came later so we will see.

Made me realize we don't see much "killer instinct" -- Dabo wins with calm and studied efficiency.

have to wonder how much the musical chairs with the qbs have the offense as a whole struggling to be consistent..offense seems to keep having to adjust to each qb when they come it. start lawrence and be done with it

I saw four crappy plays called ...

[ in reply to crappy play calling aside .. ] |

... the interception, the fumble and both missed FGs.
If the coaches don’t make those stupid calls, the offense scores 20 more points.
Yet in spite of those ridiculous calls, the offense still had 500+ yards and Ross and ETN both had stellar games.
Seriously though, I’m with you on the QB situation. Rotating has eased TL into things gradually, but he’s ready to take over.
Players have to make plays, or ALL of the play calls look bad. Our guys just seem to make more plays with TL in the game.

"Cause & Effect", LOL.
Generally, the cause is poor execution of the play that is called, and the effect is failure of the play.
So be specific ... what were the specific bad calls that caused more problems and had more effect on the game than the failure in execution that resulted in the turnovers and missed FG opportunities.

Shuffling players in and out probably causes some issues in terms of communication, timing, fluidity, etc. On the other hand, all these guys are getting great experience, which can only help down the road. Can you imagine how good TL, Ross and XT will be in two months? And there are plenty of other guys who are young and improving with every snap- Dixon, Rogers, Brice, Potter, just to name a few. GoooooTigers!!!!!!!!!

I wish Dabo would've saved the too much chicken on the bone comment for after we beat the Coots by 40.

I mean they are so predictable that GSU jumped the play and intercepted one. Can we just stop that nonsense already?
