if the roles were reversed, if Bama was undefeated, and their QB was out for the year, would they have been left out? And if you honestly answer the question you should see the bias. The SEC and its MONEY made this selection, not who's better or whose most deserving. What a crock. FSU should boycott their bowl game. In fact i wouldn't care if the entire ACC boycotted their bowls. They don't mean anything outside of a few extra practices anyway, but I think the statement as to the injustice of yesterday's selection would hit home in terms of what it would do financially to the league.

Looking back on it, FSU should have been tight lipped about the Travis injury and said he was coming back to practice sometime after the conference championship game, it may have made a difference in their decision.

Agreed. There is no requirement to disclose injury info in college unlike the pros. They should have kept it under wraps as much as possible and stated that he would most likely be available for the playoffs.

Exactly, everyone saw it, and he would have his cast on. It was a given he was done when it happened.

The problem is that everybody saw Travis' foot pointed in the wrong direction. If it was more ambiguous, then absolutely you lie about the severity and say he could be back for the playoffs.
The biggest issue with not putting FSU in is it de-legitimizes the playoffs. The point is to have a playoff that crowns a undisputed champion. Imagine if FSU beats UGA and is the only undefeated team remaining. How would they not have a legit argument that they should have a national title claim.

In this unlikely series of events, I would support that claim. Sadly, the reality is that UGA is going to hammer the tar out of FSU.

You're probably right. They had to put Texas in to justify putting Alabama in (Who Texas beat head-to-head). Otherwise, they would have had no issue leaving Texas out.

That's the only reason Texas jumped FSU.

Like I said. Georgia wins and the four undefeated champs are in and it's nice and tidy. Alabama set them into a hair pulling tailspin to make sure the SEC was represented.

but i firmly believe the committee started dreaming up reasons to get Bama in as soon as the SEC champ game ended.
I knew the fix was on when i woke up early Sunday morning and the very 1st thing DIMMICH said was that the committee found small print in their voodoo "lexicon" that says you can srew a team for having injured players.

Bama would have absolutely gotten in with that scenario. They would have been praised for overcoming the injuries and still winning. By the way, if Auburn coaches did not put their brains on pause Bama would have 2 losses.

I dont think FSU was a top 4 team, let alone top 7 at the moment. It is true that the ACC doesnt get the same respect. You are right, Saban and the SEC wouldnt get that treatment. The committee would think Bama would have a decent backup and just too much talent etc etc. Then there is the Saban factor and what Bama has been for a while here. FSU/ACC=Not as much respect obviously.

This is EXACTLY why i said the committee's decision was biased and unjustified. 1. They wouldn't do this to other teams in the same situation 2. Bama's SOS is a crock! they got credit for beating bottom of the barrel SEC teams just because they are SEC teams doesn't make them good. LSU and MAYBE, Tennessee can be considered descent teams but Auburn, MS St, A&M, Arkansas, and Kentucky??? NOT GOOD!!!! They also played South Florida, Middle Tennessee, and UT Chattanooga! Look at the teams they play and honestly tell me you think that's the 6th hardest schedule in the country! Ridiculous!!!

By the "Best 4 teams" theory, Washington does not belong in the CFP. Every team in the top 10 except Oregon would hand that one-trick pony their butts. They played no one with a defense or a pulse. All you have to do is hit Penix. By the "Who Earned it?" theory, the SEC should have been left out because they are all Texas's prison girlfriends. I can't see any way to have the 4 they chose with a straight face. Georgia is better than Michigan and Washington too.

My main issue is that the committee, and talking heads, seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouths. If we're going with the best 4 teams, does Texas, a team that has severely struggled since the Bama win, look like they would beat Michigan, UGA, Bama or Washington? I certainly don't think so, but they "earned it" by beating Bama early in the season and winning their conference. When it came to FSU, it was no longer a case of if they "earned it" by going undefeated and winning their conference, but if they could beat the other teams without Travis. So, which is it? Is it the 4 best teams, or is it who earned it? What the committee determined was contradictory and they failed to pick a lane.
