My one and only trip was in 1989 so I don't remember much.

Get a smoked turkey leg at the game. Very tasty.

Go over to the drill field and look at some of the military statues, which are very cool.

Downtown is a lot of fun in the morning before the games.

Tailgating is spread out all around the town and stadium. You will be more than welcome to stop by and get a free beverage and food from 95% of the people there. The other 5% are from NJ and just suck so stay clear of them.

You will see most of the students going to a place called Center Street. You will also see them carrying clear milk jugs with them. It's a combination of vodka, water, and whatever else they could get their hands on.

It will be our first trip to Blacksburg as well. We are looking forward to it and are heading up shortly. Thanks for the information!

Adding on to what you wrote: I'm sure it's sold out by now, but the Lion's Club lot is a really good place to park. It's expensive ($80 last I checked), but it's basically next door to the stadium. I lived in the old Stadium Apartments back in the day and last time I parked there (WVU 2022), I parked on the literal footprint of where my old apartment was. There's also a group there that cooks up TONS of Jello-Shots and both times I've parked there I've been close enough to get grabbed for free jello shots from this group.

TOTs (Top of the Stairs) is always a fun time. Get a rail. Two would be pushing it. Three and you won't remember the afternoon. It's right off campus. It is typically really busy though.
