“ BYU, Oregon, Indiana, and Army.

Just like we drew it up in August. “

I'd love to give them a third loss in a row.

Agreed. Just focus on Pitt. Any other talk is what If's at this time. Tigers can't control anything else except their OWN outcome. GO TIGERS.

Dont we just need SMU to lose to UVA

SMU has the common opponent win with Louisville
We would have the common opponent win with UVA
Then its a matter of Strength of schedule among ACC opponents.
and i think California and BC will bring down SMUs %.

It wouldn't get down to that particular tiebreaker. The one before it is record against the highest finished (by record) common opponent. So that would pit SMU's best common opponent win Louisville against Clemson's best common opponent win Virginia, where SMU/Louisville would have the edge currently (and Louisville beat Virginia head to head).

Indeed, however is UVA were to win out (SMU and VT) then we would hold the edge over SMU on the head to head tie break of common opponents. So we either need Miami to lose one more - likely at Syracuse as I don't see them losing at home to Wake; and have Tony take SMU out for us, then beat VT and we in ACCCG.

Maybe I'm not seeing something, but I believe the scenario where Virginia winning out helps most would come if they can finish a game ahead of Louisville in the standings. SMU didn't play Virginia Tech so that wouldn't alter the first common opponent tiebreaker there. So UofL is 4-2 in ACC play and Virginia is 3-3, so 'Hoos can go 5-3 and Louisville 4-4 still (they play Stanford though). It's a jumbled mess in the middle of the league so maybe there's a common opponents tiebreaker that works out for Virginia if they're both 4-4 or 5-3 but I haven't digged into that one too much.

im not certain we are out of it for a at large if say smu were to lose to miami in the acc title game. we play pitt this week and could face a top 15 coot team the final week. win both and there is at least an outside chance even with out the acc title.

I agree…I don’t follow closely enough to have insight…I rely on sportswriters and u guys…I’ll just watch and hope for success game by game…what happens happens…I like to see great football played by our tigers…not so much of that lately but like I said ..I hope…

Very nice article by Mr Mann!
