The ignorance of your post is off the charts. The sheer negativity of your post leads me to believe you must be one sorry sob who goes out of their way to belittle others and THEIR beliefs. If you believe in something, thats your business. Don't tread on someone elses choice to make a change in their life.
Congrats DeAndre for making your own choices.
And congrats to you Rowdyman on delivering the most useless, arrogant, stereotypical comment of the day.

I'm proud of Nuk and thankful for his decision and wanting to celebrate that with his friends/family! After all, that is what baptism is all about, to publicly announce your faith in Jesus...and for him, what better way to do it than around his Tiger family!

Don't get me wrong - if Nuk or any of our players have a sincere faith in Jesus, then I am very happy for them and it will be the biggest difference maker in their lives now and forever.
But I'm not sure how much I like having the baptismal pool right there at practice. Both for the team and the religious aspect.

Charlatan? Really? NewSpring is preaching the message of Jesus Christ in a way that takes advantage of modern technology for delivery, modern music styles for worship, and direct method of preaching that reaches people because they can relate to it. It's not the type of church you grew up in but the type of church that you grew up in also turned off and alienated a huge piece of a generation.
My church did that to me growing up and NewSpring brought me back. There's nothing "charlatan"-like about preaching the gospel.

Tried to get the man fired tried to make him move and tried to ruin his marriage.

on the team. Team unity is important, and if you're going to overtly emphasize something as divisive as religion, you probably need to make sure everyone is following the same fairy tale. If Dabo hasn't culled the unbelievers, he's asking for division in the locker room.

affirmations of faith without making any non-Christians on the team feel alienated.
You see here what reaction Christians have when someone is the slightest bit critical of their overt proselytizing. Your beliefs are to be respected even to the witholding of criticism. You, however, are free to throw your religion in everyone's face and tie it to Clemson and Clemson football. Whether intentional or not, you ostracize those who don't share your beliefs with these public displays. And I am "disrespectful" for pointing it out. How twisted.

Great post.
In all honesty, I'm happy for the kid. But this has no place on the football field at all. Imagine how a non-christian player on the team feels seeing this go on every day?

Religious or not, I think we can all agree that the young men on our football team are doing positive things outside of practice. I mean, think of all of the other things they could end up doing. I have NO issues with them going to church to become a part of something bigger than themselves. They are role models and leaders and have much to give both on and off the football field. I think they are doing a wonderful job of it.

I celebrate anyone who makes a commitment to Christianity, but why is a minister conducting baptisms after a football practice? And Clemson is not God's team. Jesus is for all who believeth in him and are called according to his purpose.

I don't know, maybe everyone was there because that's where they wanted to be.
