Does anyone know why the throat slash is such a big deal?

Sep 20, 2013, 11:17 AM

I don't remember it being such a big deal in the past but have seen it called numerous times this year.

It's football, if a guy puts his helmet in your chest and takes you to the ground it is a good play although you may feel it 2 weeks later.

However, if a guy makes an air gesture across his chest or throat area with no contact to an opposing player it is flagged.

the percentage of football players going out and slashing a real throat after a game is about as probable as a 6 yr old shooting people after play shooting with plastic army men

Seems stupid to me

null

Should only be illegal for running backs then

Most receivers/ tight ends in the news for killing people use guns.
New rule: No throat slashing for running backs.
No finger pistols for wide receivers or tight ends.

Wow, now that is eye opening.

I would have never equated a football celebration gesture with Nicole Brown Simpson being murdered

I thought it more like " Hey that play just ripped your heart out" " Your team is choking" "I just killed you on that play"

never went as far as an actual murder?? Crazy if that is what they mean by that. Most of those guys may not have even been born when OJ did that. or wait did he do it?

political correctness and the wussification of America!

OK, this thread is confusing. So players will all carry guns

Sep 20, 2013, 11:31 AM

but only wide receivers can have automatics? Can running Backs carry shotguns? sawed off? And can they carry their guns into a Starbucks after the game? How does this effect the humpback whale?
