Curious: Why do some folks think Saban would leave 'Bama

for Austin?? It can't be money. The 'Bama booster club would gladly double whatever Texas offers---and don't think they don't have access to it. Both are college towns although Austin is about 10 times a better place to live....even if it is in Texas. Tuscaloosa's in Alabama for gosh sakes.
I can't see what inducement would get him to leave one for the other. & I don't think Saban's anxious to get back with the NFL.
Maybe he thinks only winning 3 out of 4 national championships is the best he can do at 'Bama....but that ain't danged bad.

1 loss season was a failure. Calling for people's heads. Death threats. Tree killings.
In addition to the things yo mentioned, he'd be a God in Texas with a one loss season. Plus, turning LSU, Alabama and Texas into national champs would be quite an accomplishment. Then, on to the NFL to prove himself at the highest level.
Plus, his history suggests he gets to a point where it's time for a change.

for one.
Second, after the Auburn loss, I think he finally realizes what a spoiled, unappreciative, and psychiotic bunch of fans Bama has.
A point to which you alluded, given the choice between living in Austin and Tuscaloosa, no one in their right mind would choose Tuscaloosa.
