accept mediocre Belk Bowl results from CDS?
My guess is you wouldn't, but I don't understand why. So, why?
What if in 1953 Joe21 had been told "Joe, your beloved team will never win a basketball tournament championship, ever - not ever in your 99 year life, not one". Is it ok if CU never ever wins a basketball championship in all of our lifetimes? I guess you folks would say "actually, yes". It really doesn't have to be that way, but I realize you have made peace with it.
CBB has the best job in all of these 50 Ununited States of America. All he has to deliver in any given league game is to "give a good effort". Wow, what a job. CBB is says to tell you "Thanks buddy".

The huge difference is how many fans and how many dollars football has compared to basketball. Clemson has 19 sports so what makes 1 different from the others, MONEY. Do we need to win, certainly. Do we need to win 19 championships for the University to be satisfied, a hard no.

Horse crap, brownell is the 39th highest paid coach in the nation, once upon a time LittleJohn was considered one of the hardest places in the country to play, and sellouts were common.
we just finished 82 in the nation, behind Furman and Fordham. We don’t need more money, we need a coach….

Mr Touchdown. Good point and of course we (the fans) would not accept the results in your analogy, though I would argue you missed the mark a bit. While you are correct, a mediocre season and Belk (aka Mayo) bowl each year would not be acceptable in football a comparable post season meaningful game in basketball is a pipe dream. We would think we’ve won the lottery in basketball to have a season on par with what it takes to get to such a comparable football post season game. But…you will get crushed on this board for logic. You’ve been warned!

How many other D1 schools have never won a National Championship in football, basketball or baseball? The majority of them will never win one in your lifetime. National Championships mostly go to the “haves” and not the “have nots”. Like it or not, Clemson is in the “have nots” category when it comes to basketball. It will be very hard for Clemson to win a championship when it really has nothing to attract 5* players. No tradition, no past success and no flashy nightlife that most kids want.
Plus, if Basketball coaches read Tnet, none of them are coming here and putting up with the BS that is posted on this board. Dabo has spoiled all of you.
