I hate our delusional fans. How am I the bad guy for pointing out the obvious here? You need to go talk to the people who are trying to throw our entire offense under the bus for last year’s defensive woes. nobody cares to stick up for the offense because Dj and streeter aren’t here anymore but they won’t dare criticize the defense because we still have the coach from last year. That’s all this #### is.

When the offense can't do the job the defense has to spend extra time on the field...some of our problems in big games come from the stupid application of the targeting rule! Certain refs saw a chance to unlevel the field...OSU game for one...don't keep blaming Streeter cause Dabo had a fetish over DJ...he never really earned a starting QB spot but Dabo gave him one anyway! DJ was terrible his first year and a little less terrible his second...no D can survive that for ever. FSU is not out of the Woods(Peter) yet!

The bottom line is our fans on TigerNet are always going to stick up for the current players and coaches and the hell with the former coaches and players. This is the exact same thing that happened for years under Monty Lee when everybody defended him like he was some god just because he was a Clemson coach even though me, and all the baseball know it all’s new he was a dud. As soon as Monte was fired, everybody hated him and couldn’t wait to blame him for everything.

from last year was the loss to the "dirtpeckers". WE were up 23-14 at halftime then get outscored 17-7 in the 2nd half was a unbelievable. Between DJ not able to hit a Bull in the butt at 5 yards to taking the ball out of Ships hands was a monumental mistake. The lose to Notre Dame can be accepted, they just whipped the Tigers as well as Tennessee in the bowl game. Yes, am glad last year is behind and hoping not to be the edge of the seat till the end of game like last year. Will be looking forward to consistency and not taking the foot off the gas until a game is over. Now spot the ball.

You claim that the defense took a massive step back last year but really they only allowed 15 more yards per game and half a yard per play more. The defense was still top 25 in most major categories.
In fact you could make an argument Clemson defense was better situationally in 2022 than 2021. Clemson held opponents on third down more often and forced more turnovers per game. The one stat you could reasonably point at is points per game moved from 15.8 to 20.8. And even that is less than 3 touchdowns.

The defense was quite good last year given the task at hand.
