On a similar topic closer to home, I don't remember this when it happened as I was about 3 years old, but in 1978, after an 11-1 season, Charlie Pell swore up and down that he was staying at Clemson and then the next day bolted for Florida.

I remember Saban did something similar when he was with the Dolphins. Tom Herman lied about LSU and Texas when we as at Houston I think. It happens, I get it, but why do that? Why not be a better man?
