I was very high on DW. I'm a Ravens fan and wasn't tickled when we drafted Lamar. But you know what? Lamar could not be a better person, he is a fantastic person and I'm not talking about FB at all. I only wish, actually expected, DW to be this guy. he is not . .

He just let the money get to his head. Fortunately for him he will have so much money the rest of his life he won't know what to do with it. Hopefully he is financially smart and has a good investor. I do hate that his career has gotten to this point. He had so much potential and even proved that with the few good seasons he had with Houston.

absolutely. money changed him into an entirely diff person... or revealed who he was all along. He's lost the work ethic it takes to produce long term success. If you watch his socials it's all luxury brand this and exotic car that... and it shows in his inability to succeed. Heck he looks completely unable to process at football speed anymore and its sad

It's always funny when fans act like they know players because they watch their interviews or read puff pieces from local media.
I was at Clemson for some of the same time as Watson was. I don't recall any rumors of sexual assault or anything, but it wasn't exactly a state secret on campus that he was a big fan of women other than his girlfriend.

He seemed to be the perfect student-athlete: super talented, kind, humble, and a true leader.
His first few years in the NFL seemed to continue that trend, with great play and him seeming to be a good teammate and community leader.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, he is accused of sexually assaulting dozens of women, he is injured more than he plays, he stinks when he does play, and he dates trashy women.
I don’t know where he went wrong. Was his public persona always fake? Did he change? What happened?
I hope he turns his life around and finds peace.

It didn’t take him a few years to start on that road. Iirc, pretty much immediately after the draft he was hanging out with a #### star. Maybe that encounter was the beginning of the end.

I knew he was already in trouble right after the draft when someone posted a video of a #### star going into his hotel room with him and Nuk Hopkins. I knew right then, he was headed for trouble.

Tony Buzbee and COVID restrictions is where he went wrong... add in the NFL wanting to make him their poster boy for their virtue signaling that they really care about women ... see we hung DW4 out to dry, see we care...

What exactly is your beef with DW4? No general answers, be specific in your answer.

It seems like he was the darling we all expected him to be at first. There was a ton of good publicity in Houston about him donating his game checks to various support employees and charitable giving. He was working hard studying film. He was playing great on a good team and then tore his ACL. At that point everything changed or was uncovered and he has been spiraling down since then. I pray he can turn it around but it may be too late.

His coach at Houston was Bill O'brien, a great offensive coach and a fine christian man. When O'brien moved on, so did DFW's life.

Deshawn Watson. He had the world and blew it. Sorry to say I really no longer respect him.
I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS. DESHAWN LEAD A VERY SHELTERED LIFE. UNTIL HE LEFT CLEMSON ALL HE DID WAS TAKE CARE OF HIS SICK MOM AND PLAY FOOTBALL. HE REALLY HAD NO TIME FOR ANYTHING ELSE. HE LEAVES CLEMSON, MOVES TO A NEW BIG CITY WITH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND FINDS OUT HE HAS A LOT OF CATCHING UP TO DO IN HIS LIFE. DO NOT THINK HE DID ANYTHING ILLEGAL BUT NO DOUBT HE MADE SOME BAD CHOICES. HOPEFULLY HE CAN FIND HIMSELF.

To say he had everyone fooled would be an understatement. How could this sweet, religious guy while he was at Clemson turn into what he has become as a man? But for the grace of God go I. We all have failures in our lives and DW4's was brought to the public under the bright lights of the press and the legal system, making the issues seem worse than they really were. Then the mega contract to Cleveland which was all guaranteed to play on a horrible football team for a disastrous organization.
I think the steadying, positive influence that Dabo Swinney has on his players is often overlooked. DW4 never had a father in the home as a kid. Dabo filled that void and when he left Clemson, he no longer had that life leadership from a strong male leader and he fell back to what he knew growing up. I sincerely hope that DW4 can find his way and get into a situation where he is surrounded by people like he had at Clemson and he can again thrive. Sad to watch what is going on right now, no question.

I'm disappointed with him as well. He is the best player Clemson has had in my opinion. That talent carried over to his time with the Texans as well. But he clearly has a problem/addiction. I hope he is getting help for his problem/addiction. The guy is set for life as long as he is investing his money wisely. I could careless if he does anything with his football career at this point. I just hope he straightens his life out.
