Re: 70 is a real milestone.

October 20, 2024 was my 70th birthday. I share that birthday with the dearly departed Lewis Grizzard, although he predated me by 8 years.

You know you are old when the new Student Union that was just being built when you matriculated at Clemson in the fall of 1972, just got torn down, since it was old and obsolete. Just as well, I was always peeved whenever I went back that the Champions of Bowling Leagues in the Student Union were all listed on plaques inside the building. All, that is, except for the very FIRST year, which happened to be when EYE was on three different winning trophy winning teams! History should be correct, dadgummit!

Anyway, I had a happy birthday, even if, with all the aches and pains, I feel like 90 instead of 70. Two more years to a Golden Tiger reunion. Something to look forward to, for shore.

People can think and believe whatever they want to believe, and most do. But I believe that the weed has had something to do with me getting this age without that bad C word attaching my body, and I say that only bc a lot of lifelong friends are either already passed on, and a few of them have been battling with the C word for months and one of the for a couple of years and with most of those folks that I'm speaking about I know they never use weed until after the C word grabbed ahold of them, and I used it every day after the age of 15-16 years old up until I had to go on pain management bc of a pretty bad back injury followed with 4 major back surgeries that IMO made the condition of my back worse than it was after each surgery.

Now I'm afraid to use weed bc if it shows up in the urine test that I must give every month, and if THC shows up in my urine, they will take the medications that I absolutely need to help curb some of the daily pain that I live with every single day of my life if.

It has been proven that weed helps with the type of pain I have, but those old dried up MF-ers in the SC government that has never experienced weed in their miserable lives that don't have a clue and still believe that weed is something evil and they're steadfast at keeping weed from being decriminalized in the state of SC.

I'll be glad when they are dead and gone or just go away so people like me will be allowed the chance to use one of mother nature's naturally grown herbs to relieve us of some of our daily pain. I'll also admit that I would love to have the chance again to enjoy the feeling that can only come from one of Mother nature's naturally grown plants...
