Lakip is a scary good pathological liar
Dec 30, 2015, 7:00 AM
|
|
For him to sit there and speak of his comeback and speak of being grateful for a second chance and people that believed in him....blah, blah and blah! All that while knowing he smoked dope. What a shallow, self-centered and terribly selfish human being that lies for the absolute sport of it! I'm sad for anyone that ever believed in this kid. As of this morning, he is absolutely someone else's problem, not Dabo's.

Lakip (and Cain/McCullough) made a mistake. He has been punished in probably the worst way you could punish him, by taking away his chance to be with his family and achieve with them what they've worked so hard to achieve. There's no need to sit here and trash his character because he smoked a blunt (doobie for your old timers) with some friends on Christmas break or whatever.
He didn't punch a woman in the face.
He didn't rape anyone.
He didn't assault anyone.
He didn't publicly make an ### of himself.
He didn't show up drunk to a game.
Ammon Lakip and the others, at the end of the day, didn't hurt anyone but themselves and their teammates. Their absence will not change the outcome of this game. If we lose, we would have lost with those guys.
There's tough love, which is what Dabo has shown by sending them home, and then there's being an ####### for no reason. You can't preach family and Christianity and turn around and say #### like this. You can't kick someone out of a family.

to reach the end zone on kickoffs, albeit he only did it about half the time. He was our extrapoint kicker after Huegel missed 5 this year. Lakip gave us a chance on a long field goal, now we will have to be inside the 25 to consider a FG. Cain was the only WR who has shown the ability to make the take away catch ala Mike Williams, Nuk Hopkins, etc. Agreed that McCullough has been a reserve, but he has logged 98 plays this year, mainly on special teams. I pray we overcome it. It will take some adjustments in our game strategy for sure.

Finally, some positivity! Last time we were without Cain, in the same field no less, we handed the U its worst loss in school history and got their coach fired!
If anything, this coupled with the media's doubting us, will fuel us to perform even better. Have faith everyone!

Addictions are no joke...
Dec 30, 2015, 7:31 AM
|

I am fortunate enough to have never needed to fight an addiction, but I do know many people who are.
Note I said "are"...
It is an every day constant battle. Making judgments on people that you don't know is not right. What happened to Clemson being a 'family'? What these kids need is help and guidance, as you would do for your own.
I love the suspension. Lakip might be done with the team... might not. I support the coaching staff on whatever decision they make. (They do know all these kids on a personal level after all.)
I will be praying for them.
*NOTE* I wasn't implying that your comment was joking about addictions.

When will you people get it. It's not the drug of choice, it's the rules of the team, and letting the team down. Nobody gives a sh!t if you think weed should be legal. If they had gone out and gotten drunk, it would be the same, whether they are of legal age or not.
Go Tigers!

Well actually it wouldn't because a drug test doesn't show alcohol and I'm sure 99% of the players attended a party where they got drunk over the break....

These are kids. Lakip obviously has an addiction problem. He deserves our prayers, not our scorn. He threw his Clemson career away. That in itself is punishment enough.

I respect that addictions are difficult, I've lived it, I get it better than most but to not call a liar a liar(and he is an absolute liar) is to continue to enable this liar's behavior. Just watching Dabo, you got to see, despite his comments to the contrary, it is a huge distraction for this team brought on by 3 selfish young men. Do they deserve to be jailed or flogged, no but they have to know when you have the world's attention, what you say, even the lies matter. So, I could care less what your think, you can hurl insults my way but none of that changes the fact that this guy is a pathological liar and must be called that until he changes that dangerous behavior.

Why, you ask? You cited "tough love" my words are about the first part of that principle, being tough. Me calling him a pathological liar, is in no way off base. He should be ashamed of his actions, his actions are his and he must own it. I'm sure you are only about the second part of tough love...love. You, like most people that would rather hug them than mold them, befriend them rather than guide them, praise them rather than question them. I submit, people like you have enabled this kid by ignoring his behavior and wanting to be his "best buddy" you're the problem not some guy that has actually lived this humiliation and knows to admit that you're a liar, is the ONLY way to fix it. Again, keep on hurling your insults, you will never change my mind. Again, oh wise one, I am a recovering addict and former pathological liar...Believe me, I get it.
