A big number of RBs don't have the patience to wait for things to start opening up to follow the blockers through. Once they see a crack begin to open is when coaches want them to hit the hole full speed. I personally think when RBs try to force an opening out from behind their blockers, it causes feet shuffle or try turning, and that makes them go backwards. Just my 2 cents

I think you are right on. Too fast is great in the open field, but not when you have to wait for the blockers to do their job.

Feaster has to set up a block or wait on the block before hitting the burners. Some guys don't realize this, but the good backs help their lineman out to get the defensive guy going one way and you go the other with the ball. Short yardage a whole different ballgame...

I can't remeber the last time I was this pumped about a defensive backfield guy. Muse, I think, is going to be a monster this year. Opposing wideouts and tight ends- you've been warned.

Personally, I like the rugby style punt as a regular thing. It has a lot of advantages if the punter can perform it effectively.

This is what I liked best from this article: "Freshman Matt Bockhorst showed a nasty streak, and had to be pulled off of one defensive lineman." We may see the run game more this year....
