Coaching them for free. He did it part time! Runs his own electrical co. With about 100 employees...I am pretty sure he took them to the playoffs in he 2nd year.....

Good to know, Walhalla is a tough spot to win. It’s isolated and not a really a ton of tradition. In Greenville (and many places) you see kids transferring schools to play sports and it can be just a small difference in commute.

Yep. And paid for all the player’s extras, shorts, sweatshirts, athletic pants….athletic dept didn’t have to spend any money on anything football when Johnson was there.
Stone used Walhalla as a stepping stone. More power to him but Daniel ain’t Walhalla. A lot more will be expected of him there.

And he will have a lot more instantly. No knock on Walhalla but if he can get the Razorbacks to the playoffs and win, then the talent at Daniel will more than help him.out. Daniel gets tons of "resources" from Clemson. If this guy has energy and keeps kids turning out he will keep Daniel rolling. So when people say Daniel isn't Walhalla.... That's a fact!!

Chad's, and Venables boys. Was undefeated maybe for 10 years. Went to Walhalla and made them a proposal with a one inch thick binder of what he would do. Told them he would coach for free and could only be there two days a week. He built a pretty solid program for Walhalla. 2 hours after he walked out the door, the new head coach at Woodmont called and asked him to be his OC. He is self taught coach and pretty dadgum good. He told me exactly what happened on those runs that Texas put on us.
