this cant be serious!

I've been 100% for staying in the ACC since all this Big12 talk began. But, now for the last couple of days, I've seen a few reports that the big east TV contact may actually eclipse the ACC's. If this is somehow true then it's got to be about time to move on. If we cant even get as much money as the league that we more or less tried to destroy, then something is bad wrong.

There's a catch to it b/c of how many teams are involved

NBC and their new sports network wants to add more football and basketball. The total deal will be more than the ACC's but only b/c of the sheer size of the league between the 2 leagues (don't forget all the additions coming to football soon.) When broken down each football only school will get $10 mil/yr, each basketball only school will get $4 mil/yr, and each school that plays both will get $14 mil/yr. Still not really close to the ACC in those terms.

Actually 14 million per team that plays both is the operative number, and it is very close to our fantastic deal.

Are we getting less money because we invited two schools that bring nothing to the table from a negotiating power standpoint. I mean, if basketball is only worth $5 million per school and football is double that...
Do you think Pitt can get to above average in football with PSU's issues in the same state?

Until the new deal is struck

What it seems like people are forgetting is that the deal gets to be renegotiated because of the additions. It's actually a clause in the first deal that if the ACC expands then the deal would be up for renegotiation. Also, even though I do not like the additions of the two schools in choice, they both provide good television markets. Pittsburgh and New York are added to the ACC's reach and because of that, the deal should get sweeter. If the ACC drops the ball on the renegotiation then we are definitely in the wrong conference. Until then, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

sources posted on reputable news sites. That would be the complete opposite of the 100's of articles about Clemson to B12 that came from uncredentialed web bloggers who sounded like they got their news from a friend of a friend of a friend, which makes their sources sound like they're in REO Speedwagon.
There was a reason why no real news agency touched the Clemson to the Big 12 rumors. It simply wasn't true.

Sorry, but a very great man speaks about contracts in the book of Matthew, and you should just get over it.
Basically, if YOU are satisfied with the contract that YOU and SOMEONE made, then you should be content. If someone else gets a better contract with the same SOMEONE, then it should not matter as it does NOT affect YOUR contract.
I didn't say that. If you disagree, I'll let you argue with him. Uh - be prepared for a beat down of biblical proportions.
Just saying.

The only problem with that is that very few on here are happy with the contract, fact or perception, most feel we got shafted by the commish.
