Not Clemson related but still...

Dec 11, 2014, 11:07 AM

I just had to share this. A few years ago I paid off a car and not two weeks later, the motor went and so I had to go right back out and buy another . Then yesterday I paid that car off too. The last payment and I was smiling. 30 minutes later... And I'm dead serious... That one went too. Sigh.....

If good fortune goes in cycles then I'm bound to find gold in my yard any minute.

Stop buying Dodges I guess

And start paying them off slower?

99 Dodge Durango: 255K and still going strong on original motor
93 Dodge Dakota: 235K and on its last legs (on original motor)

These weren't easy miles either. Towing our crap (including other vehicles) all over the country during military moves.

Generally I think most cars will last if you take care of them and maintain them well. Sometimes stuff just happens. I've owned all American companies' vehicles (Chrysler, Ford, GM). None have really been drastically worse or better than any other, and the differences that are there really don't correlate to companies.

Im not sure what I'll do yet. I may sell it for junk if I can't find another motor to go in it reasonably. I think the one guy is right, I should pay on it slower .

Aveo. From what they told me , the timing belt broke. Said it was really bad on that car. So I'm assuming it's cheaper to buy a used motor. That's what I'm gonna try and sort out

Timing belts can be bad news. Hope you find something.***

Ty my friend. I'd like a Ferrari but I hear I might be a tad short on the deposit.

But then again, I doubt I could even afford the insurance lol

I will say this, while I was standing there waiting

On the tow truck, I was surprised at how many people stopped to ask if I was ok and wished me a merry Christmas. At least I had my coat and my handy dandy diet coke.
