Great fans

I'm a Notre Dame fan who spent last weekend in Clemson and attended the game. I have to give a huge shout out to all the Clemson fans I met. I've been to away games at Tennessee, Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College and Miami. Clemson is at the top of the list for best experience. In our RV lot Jack, Beth, Darryl and Dana fed us fantastic food from a food trailer the likes of which I've never seen. Never did cook for ourselves or go to a restaurant - every meal for 2 days was with them. And they absolutely refused to accept any money to defray the cost. We were their guests. AT 6:30 Sat morning I stopped to ask someone where I could get a good picture of the empty stadium and he had me hop in his truck and took me to the perfect spot. Joggers going by wished the Irish luck. I stopped in a restaurant early Sat morning hoping to get a cup of coffee. They weren't open yet but Ray the owner had me sit at the bar while he put on a pot just for me. Spent about an hour there as Ray and I solved the world's problems. During the game the Clemson fans were fun to talk to and fist bump with. Clemson is now my second favorite team. You folks know how to do it right. Go Tigers.

I know some have posted negative experiences but i'd like to believe those are very isolated and everyone was welcoming as a whole. Good luck the rest of the year!

Already planning on being there. Here's an open invitation to any Clemson fans: on Friday night go to The Linebacker. It's just off campus (you can see the stadium from the parking lot) and will be rocking. South Carolina money won't be any good in there as you'll be our guests. Look forward to meeting more of you.

Great posts like that may cause me to re-think my prejudice (word used intentionally) against Notre Dame fans.
Glad you had a good time. Usually October weather is amazing here (like today, for example). Sorry you didn't get to experience that.

Well, since you say you're a ND fan, and not a grad . . .

. . .you should come to one more game here in Death Valley, sit on the home side, wear lots of orange with lots of paws, and feel what it's like to be a Tiger fan. From there, you'll learn all about God's country, that there's something in these hills, and never return to the dark side!
Go, Tigers! BYOG!

This is great to hear! I'm a recent graduate from Clemson, so I'm probably younger than most of the RV crowd, but I will say that I still have respect for every opposing fan base. I think it's crucial to hold up a hospitable atmosphere. I recently went to the Tennessee vs. Florida game (my brother is at UT for school) and I know how it feels to be in a hostile environment.
Go Tigers!!
