and every downtown bar we went into had the TV tuned in to The White Ford Bronco Chase.

Good times. Good times. And You Were There.

My wife and I were in Dallas for a meeting in the Hilton Hotel, TRYING to watch our Houston Rockets win the NBA Championship and the game was put down in the corner of the screen and the white Bronco went full screen. I thought sure My wife was going to have a heart attack.

Yep I remember being very drunk in Boone NC and watching that car chase on the bar TV along with everyone else there.

I was at a wedding during the chase. Noticed there were very few people at the reception. Walked outside and everyone was crowed around the limo the couple had rented to leave in.

They limo had a TV in the back and everyone was watching the chase through the back windows.

Never forget that I was in the Atlanta airport waiting for

my flight and when the announcement came across the TV all the black folks cheered. I was a bit stunned myself.

Biggest sham and circus of a trial ever.

That day, my supervisor asked me to join him

Oct 3, 2023, 1:08 PM

for lunch. I accepted.

We met two of his friends at Bennigan's on Haywood Road in Greenville. We sat in the bar area. My supervisor and his friends were drinking. A surprise to me since we had to go back to work, and I had never drank alcohol at lunch in my working career.

Anyway, one of the guys with us was African American. And, all the TVs were tuned to the trial because the verdict was to be announced. It was. The African American with us just started laughing, and we couldn't figure out whether he thought the verdict was a joke or if he agreed with it. We never found out because we all secretly felt it would be in poor taste to ask.

However, I felt justice was not served that day. I was very glad he (O.J.) was found guilty in the civil suit that followed.
