I love your fridge. It’s a 7spots fam fantasy.
But I recently learned that the biggest issue was our willingness to share unnecessary desires about ourselves with others. I cannot refuse buying any new flavored soda when I see it in the store. I realize that I’ve been influenced. I’ve influenced my children similarly.
My children have had a different response altogether though. It’s way different. They ignore it until someone they follow reviews it. I hate that path. And I refuse to be a part of that world. But still, it’s hard to resist Blackberry Doctor Pepper.
Mexican Coke you say? Let me guess, no fructose corn syrup, glass bottle, twice the price? Mexicans have benefited zero from this product? Adds up. Have you tried a Jarritos Grapefruit yet? It will blow your mind. If that’s not your flavor, try one of the other half dozen or so. They’re good. Way better than Coke!

Before Reagan slapped a 14% tariff on imported cane sugar, and then later subsidized corn to make corn sugar cheaper. There is no comparison, and yes, it's worth $1.50 a Coke for a taste of my American childhood, lost to tariffs and subsidies.
I could just buy them at Publix for $3 a bottle, but I go to Sam's.
And I HATE that I have to get a Mexican import to enjoy an AMERICAn beverage I grew up drinking as a child. HATE IT.

Mexican Coke is overrated. Kind of sucks imo. I know they vary around the world, but Mexico's Coke suck. I know people rag I. The US Coke due to the ingredients. I think US Coke is better maybe. Who knows? I had one from the Netherlands that tasted very natural, still crisp though, not syrupy. Thought that was the best.

They are a bit better in Europe, because they use less sugar overall.

less sugar, or usually HFCS. Whatever.
But in the 1980's, when everyone started getting fat and diabetes, they enacted a 14% tariff on cane sugar coming into the US, then they spent $10 billion a year subsidizing corn to make it cheaper, making HCFS way cheaper (in the US) than cane sugar. So we got fat and diabeatus.
Tariffs and farm subsidies made us what we are today. Also made obesity a disease of the poor, and not the rich, because the cheapest foods are now the worst for you. Go on a healthy diet, you will spend more on food.
