If you could add 1 past Tiger to this team

Let's say any player from the last 10 years. Who would you add? I'm going to have to go with Bowers, as much as I would like to say Spiller I think Bowers would take the defense to an entirely new level.

For me it would definitely be someone on the defensive side of the ball. I think our d-line and line backers will be good. I still worry about our d-back so I would go with Terry Kinard.

and we don't have an elite DE on the team so that is probably my pick to. I'll surprise a few and list Michael Hamlin as well. He was small but one tough, smart Safety. If you look at our bowl game against Auburn, HE shut them down almost by himself. Then, he got hurt and we could not have stopped them with 12 guys. He put everyone in position and rarely got burned, which would be welcomed in our secondary.

If I could go back a bit further, I'd be tempted to take Anthony Simmons. A great LB makes the whole D better.

The was one o the best cover corners we've had in a long time, and that's what we are lacking. Bowers would be in my top 5, but I think we are pretty good at DE. My other choices would be Deandre McDaniel, Terry Kinard and Marcus Gilchrist.

Good question partner. There are so many directions in which to go here.
Bowers and Adams certainly would help with some pressure from the outside. I'd imagine the Fridge would do some disruption as well. Leroy Hill and John Leake certainly would give us a boost in raking up some short yardage tackling.
I'm going with Brian Dawkins. Given the style of offense we play, the scoreboard is often changing. A lot of heat is then placed upon the opposition to score quickly. Most teams simply abandon the run and go to a pass happy O. Dawkins would bring in some excellent coverage skills and potentially some turnovers. He'd also have no problem stepping up to the line and contributing in run D.
Go Tigers!!!

Chester McGlockton or Michael Dean Perry.
Jul 19, 2013, 6:06 PM

McGlockton blocked out the sun. I tried to get an autograph from him as a young man, but I got scared and walked away. Michael Dean Perry had the quickest first step for a 280-290lb man I've ever seen.
2 guys that could beat their man and make a play on every down. It would cover up any linebacker and defensive back issues the team might have.

Joking of course. I'll stick with my previous vote above in Dawkins.

Donnell Woolford...Granted not in the last 10 years, but it looks like half the replies are beyond 10 years.
If we stick with the last 10 years I would go with Justin Miller. I am temped to go Adams, Bowers or Spiller. Spiller because he is Spiller, but we only have 1 football to go around. Hesitation on Bowers is whether we get Freshmen/Sophomore seasons Bowers or Jr season Bowers. Going with CB over DE because of needs.

Spiller - 2 reasons
Jul 19, 2013, 6:53 PM
|
|
1) Obviously he was a very good running back. Electric and a good receiver out of the backfield. I think we'd definitely be top 3 offenses in the country with him. 2) He fills a HUGE need on special teams. Nearly 3/4 of the games his senior year he changed the complexion of the game singlehandedly. Imagine FSU or SC games last year if he takes a kickoff back to the house. Plus, most of the rest of the time we would be saving 20 yards of field position per kickoff (starting at the 40 instead of the 20).
