UT was almost definitely a legit CFP contender this year. The loss of Hooker hurt them, for sure, and yeah, their Usuck loss looks awful and it took a lot of luck for them to beat Bama (penalties), but the only other loss was to the probable national champ. We couldn't have beaten UGA this year, either, if we're all honest with ourselves.

Disregarding what coulda, woulda, shoulda with the ND and Usuck losses, THIS was probably who we truly WERE this year. Top 10. No more, no less. That's not exactly awful...
