With the way that teams are getting knocked off that the talking heads had said were the top 10 teams at the start of the season, it would seem that they would be more careful with the teams they now say will be playing for the national championship. I mean that if our Tiger team that we've watched since our beating by Georgia, if they continue to keep getting better after each game until the end of the season, I think that it would be pretty hard to rule them of the national championship game. A team that loses their very first game of the season, then dominates their next 12 games could be deserving to play for the national championship, especially if we embarrass Miami in the ACCCG if we can get that far without another loss!!!
Also, if we play and embarrass Miami in the ACCCG, I think that our team would have earned a spot in NCG if we take care of business through the playoffs up to the NCG....

Why not? Most of the stadiums over there are little. You folks are an SEC team not in the SEC. You care about your football.

Funny most of their predictors have Miami going undefeated winning the ACC but Clemson still making the playoffs with two losses. Traveling to Iowa State in December would not be a pleasant trip.

I saw a projection that had us playing in Tuscaloosa then if we win facing the #1 seed. I’d rather win the ACC and get a bye.

I probably won't start thinking much about playoffs until I see us against Pitt.

Our offense is obviously much better than it has been since last year. Even against inferior competition, it's obvious that we now have a good offense. But it is still concerning to me just how different we looked vs UGA compared to all the not good teams we have played since. I also believe we would play much better against UGA if we had another shot, but I am reminded of an important fact from the past.
There once was a man named Rob Spence. His offenses would absolutely destroy inferior competition. 500 yards and 50+ points (even 63 and 70!) wasn't a rare thing. But then we'd play a solid team and couldn't score a touchdown. (literally)
Now before anyone freaks out, I am not asserting that is our current situation. I actually don't believe it is. But... I would be foolish to ignore the possibility that the massive dichotomy between our offensive performances against inferior competition is something that continues to lurk beneath.
Experience has taught me that reeling off several consecutive wins against inferior competition can lead to distortions in perception. #5 ranked Clemson in 2000 comes to mind. #10 ranked Clemson rolling into Blacksburg in 2006 comes to mind.
I'm just saying, we need to beat a team with a winning current record before we start feeling entitled to playoff spots.

Actually the 2006 is a bad comparison. We beat two ranked teams before that.***

I believe that the Georgia game was the results of Cade not having found his confidence in that first game of the season going against the #1 team in the country at that time and it was a little too intimidating for Cade before he had a chance to jell with his WR's core. Re-do that game all over again and I'm certain we would see a better outcome. I'm not saying we would beat Georgia, but the score board would look different than it did at the end of the game on August 31st!!!

I am far from ready to concede the ACC c Championship, but to host a CFP game would be outrageous. If they think it is loud here on a regular Saturday . . .

As other posters have mentioned already. We have played some pretty bad teams during this five-game run.
The offense has been amazing, the schedule just set up nicely for us to get our secondary in order. Pitt will be the real test.
