Agreed. Thad is one of the only people in the nation to have that "knowledge" of what needs to be done. Can't believe we stole him from Alabama.
Just might be god showin Dabo a lil...favor

The secret is Clemson and the coaching staff and their families.... If Dabo and Jeff and Elliot were not the fine men they were a lot of recruits or their mamas would see the shell and know it was white washed. The families and the recruits know that the coaching staff wants them to be better men when they leave Clemson that when they got there. What the recruiting staff is doing is allow the coaches to concentrate on coaching and personal contacts with recruits rather than the minutiae of organizing the activities.

Clemson is incredibly fortunate to have Thad Turnipseed in our FB staff! Another truly fine man who "gets" what Clemson is all about and adds to our ability to recruit great players with the character to thrive as a Tiger. Thanks, Thad. I love what you do and how you do it. I'm ALL IN!

We could save a ton of money on evaluating recruits if Dabo

and Streeter wood just pull up the ESPN Top 300 and work on those.
Somejuan else has already done all of the hard work (at their expense). Why reinvent the wheel?

I understand your thinking. However, if we would have taken this approach, we would not have Grady Jarrett or Vic Beasley. Our staff does a great job evaluating guys for what they have and how they fit in our system. Not just relying on what other people think.
Evaluating guys for ourselves also allows us to get a head start on special players that haven't popped up on everyone's radar. This gives us a huge advantage.

One of the reasons we have attracted the stellar players we have is that we start talking with these kids as early as their Freshman year of HS - often before they are ranked. Also, as the other poster pointed out, there are a lot of guys off the radar that can become (or already are) 4 or 5 star talent.
I don't care how much it costs (if we have it) - what they're doing is working.

Absolutely! If it ain't broke don't fix it. In one breath everyone talks about what a great job the staff is doing with recruiting (and they are), and then some want to change it?! Really?

But you know all those recruits and their parents saw the plans..... Well.. ALL I CAN SAY IS GO TIGERS!!!!!!!
