I also see the value in being on the sidelines to be with the players and coach them in the moment.
Glad Dabo will give the Tool Man the option to choose what he thinks is best. Hire the right people and delegate responsibility and decision making.

His personality seems to be he wants to be right there ready to celebrate, question, or chew them out when they come off the sideline. And, he wants to do it face to face, nose to nose, not headset to phone.

He could do all of that with one of those 16' electric scissor jack scaffolding, and he could see everything that's happening on the field probably better than he could from the press box or standing on the sidelines!!!  Probably the only one to complain about would be Dave Doeren from NC State. He would probably try to sue us!!! For sure he would be on the phone to the NCAA first thing on Monday morning crying about our coaching being on a scissor jack scaffolding from the sideline during the game, but I really don't see how it would be illegal. I know that Clemson has one of those scissor jacks bc I've seem guys filming practice on one.

I actually did that at one game . The home team was redoing their press box and said they didn’t have enough room for us . They gave us the option of staying on the sidelines or the scissor lift. The lift was behind the visitor’s stands so we drove back and forth from 20 yard line to 20 yard line. We had to stop after halftime because the home team complained to the officials. Great times!
