What is up? We don’t seem to go after the big names anymore. Are we really convinced our 3 stars are just under the radar? Is this a NIL money limitation. We have stars on defense, QB and WR are to expensive to go after stars?

So I assume you know everything that happens behind the scenes? Are we supposed to offer every single five- or four-star QB? Riley is absolutely recruiting these top tier kids and making choices on who to offer. There is no point in offering a kid you have no shot with (NIL, Location, already has his mind made up etc.)
Also you're not happy with Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore?

The general thought is the QB is the most important position on the field which is why the NFL generally drafts QBs early and pays them very well. For CFB, the top tier QBs draw big money, up front NIL which we seem to be unwilling to offer. We can mitigate the risk by keeping a full roster of QBs meaning we can no longer afford to skip years as we have done in the past. Time will tell.
As for WRs, last year and again this year we have received commitments from top tier talent, so it seems to be less of an issue.

Blake Hebert is a composite 4 star as is Vizzina. Anyway, we have our QB for 2 more years and we have out backups for now and potential starters down the road. Hopefully we go big in 2026. Everything seems fine to me.

Forgot to add, I think Blake Hebert looks great in film. People like Pearman too. I think 2026 is when we vote big.

It's a totally different game now since the sport changed to Professional Football with no spending limits on PFP deals.

Actually, the truth is we did not go after Cade at all. Ty Simpson was our First Choice that cycle and he chose Bama and we had to scramble down the list and offer Cade, who committed immediately.

Before to much is said, lets just wait and see how Mr Blake Hebert is going to look like once he's had some college coaching. I'm thinking he is going to be one of our best QB recruits since TL16!!!

I like Hebert and think he has good upside. The thing is, I think the same about CV. One or both may prove to be a top shelf talent but both will likely need a few years to develop unlike DW4 or TL16. This is why I stated we need to fill and keep full our QB room. For other comments about going big in 2026, how will that year be different unless we join the bidding? I am not advocating for the change, but I also do not expect different results unless we do something different. If you were a 17 year old all world QB, would you pass on one or two million dollars to sign with Clemson?

Maybe but his accuracy is going to have get dramatically better for that to be the case. The guy has some tools for sure though.

but outbid the other bidders. WE can get them again but its necessary to roll out the red carpet like the ohio states, UGA's and Texas's do.

We went after several of the top QB's in class of 2024, but lost out on each. So we are still going after them, we just didn't sign any. I think coaches feel good about Hebert and I believe will go hard for class of 2026.

has already said that it's all about the money now, and we don't get those players anymore because we run a clean program and don't pay players.

Currently listed as a 3* on 247 composite and may be a high MLB pick. IMO we are taking a big risk if he is the only signee in the 2026 class.

I’m worried about his baseball connection too. Only dual sport football baseball player that seemed to work out was DJ reader. Others were all disappointing.
