Stayed another year . If you aren't going in the first 5 rounds or so then staying and gaining experience for another year could be of benefit .

Who knows what would have happened in his football future of had he stayed at Clemson (or will happen now), but at least he would have had the opportunity to play the game he loves at least one more year with a group of people who live and care for him.

That's easy to say when this happens. It's just tough making it in the NFL no matter what.

You know people do leave for many reasons and I think for the big picture Dabo has to support them to continue recruiting success but this was a bad move from the start from a purely football perspective. He was never projected at any sort of high level but either simply had to go and give it a shot for personal reasons or got some really bad advice. Another year with BV could have made a big difference. I wish him well!

I have learn that an "opinion" of whether one of our top guys should have stayed his senior year or left for the NFL is shunned on here by the T-Net EXPERTS with a vengeance. And for these reason I will only add that the actual NFL experts like head coaches and the team owners have made claims before, during, and after the NFL draft that, they wish these college kids would have stayed and gotten the experience and the maturity they would have gained in their senior season of college FB. They also have said that their maturity level doubles in their senior year of college than it does up through their junior year. That is not my opinion even though I Agree, it is the opinion of the ones that draft them and sign those checks that those young get paid!!!

Clearly he should have stayed off his speed alone.. He could have got injured in his senior year but it wouldn't have damaged his Draft position as bad as his 40 time did.. Also he would have had more tape of him balling so he would have probably got that first or second round selection.. Just on his Football skills alone but either way his speed would have hurt him.. I think he can be a end in the League.

Tre Lamar = Tavian Feaster

Both great football players, fantastic players, but they both play in a sort of "lumbering" style, not very fluid.
I personally think this was their Achilles heel. Compare ETN being able to cut and snap on a dime to Feasters straight ahead bulldozer approach. Lamar was a bit similar in style.
Again both FANTASTIC College players, maybe not NFL, but only time will tell.
Go Tigers!!

Regarding these guys that leave early and then don't make

it in the NFL...
I can't pretend to know why they choose to leave early and I'm not going to sit here and criticize their decisions since i don't know the rationale behind them, but i do think that the vast majority of them would NOT improve their chances of playing in the league by returning to school for another year. Most of the guys that don't make it just have physical limitations that won't ever change. Tre Lamar isn't going to become quicker and more fluid by playing another season at Clemson in 2019. He would, however, risk something like a knee injury that could limit his mobility even further.
IMO the only thing that coming back for another year could potentially change is draft position and this is primarily just for guys that haven't featured much during their first three years and are in line to get more PT and showcase their skills more in their SR year. But again, just looking at this logically, if they weren't good enough to feature much at Clemson for 3 years, why would anyone expect them to suddenly become NFL caliber during that last year?

I'm not a coach and I never have been, I know a little bit about the game of FB, and nothing about the coaching end of it. What I do know, is that I have two ears that still hear pretty good, and I can read a little bit even though some of what these writers write can be at times confusing, and I think that they some times confuse them selves. I can tell you that I have read, and I have listen to NFL coaches and owner both say that they would rather these guys stay in college and play college FB through their senior year for the experience and for the maturity they gain in their senior year of college FB. I'm not coaching or paying these kids, so I guess these coaches and owners know more about than I do, and they must have good reason for saying what they do about the college FB players coming to them as blood raw rookies!!!
