Former Clemson LB waived by Lions

Former Clemson LB waived by Lions

The Detriot Lions announced that they have waived linebacker Tre Lamar with an injury exception.

Since he was waived with an injury exception, if he clears waivers, there is a chance that the rookie linebacker could eventually make his way back to the Lions in form of an injury settlement or being placed on the injured reserve.

A former five-star prospect out of Roswell (Ga.), Lamar declared for the draft early after posting 159 tackles and 8 sacks over three seasons (39 games/22 starts).

In 2018 as a junior at Clemson, Lamar was named a Butkus finalist as he had 85 tackles (5.5 for loss), three sacks, an interception and pass breakup over 14 starts.

Update: He has been reverted back to the injured reserve Monday after clearing waivers.
