Let's hope Gideon learns to block relatively early and we are sure to lose another back to the portal.

Agree.
Let's hope this young man understands the offense, can read a defense, pick up a block and catch a pass. A shiny new toy who hasn't played a D1 snap and he is being anointed the new RB 1. That RB room is loaded with talent Jay Haynes, David E, Streko, Green, even Adams Jr. (fullback type). The brass feel Adam Randall is now an RB after a great kick-off return in the ACC ship. They better respect the aforementioned RB's in that room or it will lead to a portal mass exodus, IMHO. Time will tell. Pray for health for all these young men.

IMO what a rookie RB with the talent that Gideon Davidson has he must understand before he takes the field as a freshman rookie is to get behind his blockers and look for the first opening that will allow him to get plus yardage. If a talented freshman RB can do that, they can play and learn the offense at the same time, OJT.

I am not sure if it is good or bad that our best RB is a true freshman.***

Schrodinger's Cat Theory requires an observer to determine what state the cat is in after superposition by observing the cat within the confines of the test.

I assume that the observer would be Dabo Swinney, since he calls the shots.

- BUT -

The Hungarian-American physicist Euguen Wigner would have us believe that we could only know of the cat's state-of-being by observing the observer. So we would not know the cat's fate until Dabo decided what it was.

Seems like that's the way it is with Quantum Dabo.... <img border=">">">">">

It’s neither ant this point in time. Until all of our RBs are practicing together and the coaches can conduct their evaluations, then the speculations are just for entertainment purposes.

I.e., the same for Clemson as it for every other program.

Just as your post will be conceived as negative, mine will too. Before getting Davidson, our RB recruiting after Shipley and Mafah tanked. Rankings aren't everything and yes, a blind squirrel stumbles across a diamond every now and then. I can understand 2022 being off. But we picked up 2 in 23 which at least one should have been a high 4*. Both were low 3* projects that weren't ranked in the top 1000. Then not getting any in the 24 cycle was mind blowing. At minimum we should have taken a portal player.

Hopefully we get that diamond between Haynes, Adams, or Green. I'm actually ok with Randall. Maybe Henderson surprises us all as a freshman too.

Now that coach, who in 5 years, and just missed on our number one target RB for 26 , and recruited one high rated player in 5 years may shock us. I'm praying that he does.

Which is interesting because I'd think kids would gravitate to his story and path.

I have personally watched him at least ten times over his four years in high school. His feet are very quick, and his vision to see holes is great. I have seen him block for his quarterbacks, and he is good at that as well. Like most D1 prospects, he played on defense as well, and there were games where he was better on defense than offense. The league he played in is one of the best in the state, so the competition was very good. If he can hit the weights and develop in size, I am telling you that he will be outstanding.

All of what you say about Gideon Davidson is great as long as the holes that he's looking for aren't the holes he believes will give him big yardage plays or TDs. A good RB IMO will go for whatever the opposing D is willing to give him, and he should take that bc nothing is worse for an offense that losing yards...

He's the real deal.

He and EZ will make a great 1-2 punch , not necessarily in that order

EZ will get the nod to start followed closely behind by Davidson

By mid-season however it will be apparent GD is a dude and takes the spot

It will mirror the way the KB -TL scenario played out imo.

This is no slight to our other RBs who have put in time

These two are just a cut above.

GD is also a track member excelling in 100 , 200 , and long jump which offers its
advantages. Think ( Spiller and J. Ford )

Having seen him snare quite a few balls playing defense ( I should add he looked very natural doing so with little effort ) will also catapult him into our leading receiving threat out of the backfield and another reason why Riley will bump into
the starter role.

I like this scenario. We need at least two (hopefully three) capable backs to be successful next year (playoff). Should be interesting to see how it shakes out.
